I wish they had shop class or something of the sort when I was in highschool. @CharlieCafe helped me out building a fridge stand a few months ago and was dropping some knowledge on me, most of which I think he said he learned in shop class

Thanks for the input guys and gals. I moved into the complex in April and it changed owners in June, and it's been a shit show here ever since. Especially as it relates to paying rent and utilities. I have since learned that switched to a new utility in the process which I think is where the problem started.

There was a slight rate increase with the new utility company, but not enough to justify the difference and according to my bills, the increase is from usage...2500 CF to 11500 CF with no corresponding change in my usage habits. Everything is billed through the apartment complex but I get a breakdown of the sub-meter usage separately from the utility company.

No fireplace. No hot water leak that I'm aware of but I don't have access to the closet to verify. There's no visible water running out and no damage to the walls around it which I would think would be visible after this long. Also, my water usage has not changed according to my bills which I would think it would if it was a hot water leak. I called the office about this a month ago when I saw the first increase and they agreed something wasn't right. They were supposed to come out and look at my appliances but I don't think they ever did as they have no record of maintenance coming out and the guy I spoke to no longer works here. I went in after work today with all my bills and they looked up other apartments my size and agreed (AGAIN) that something isn't right. Supposedly this has been elevated to the manager (which they also told me they did two weeks ago) and they are going to work with the utility company tomorrow to get me an answer. We shall see...

The only thing that interested me worth a damn of all our "elective" classes was Weight Training. Was in it for 3 years, Junior and Senior year I had it twice a day

The same company who bought out Brian's complex bought out my old one in Westminster as well. Was a shit show for the final 4 weeks I lived there.

But now, I live in some brand new apartments with all of Brian's old apartment staff and his old management company and they are awesome! Some of them remember Brian from his truck too so when I asked about working on mine in the garage they said as long as it's not quiet hours

Also, they don't plan to sell the property from what I heave heard, based on some investors and stuff I think. So hopefully they stick around

Its this new management company. Embrey was amazing when i first moved in. They were doing routine maintenance and I left a note on the counter with some issues I noticed...screen door wouldnt close, toilet was wobbly...some other bits. Everything was fixed the day after with a friendly note on the counter. It's the same maintenance guys so dont blame them. I am really frustrated with the lack of follow through by property management right now.

It will get resolved. They advised me not to pay until they figure it out. I laughed and said I wasnt planning to.

Damn! I missed out! We had an old shop building but the shop teacher got fired for trying to rat out an assistant principle for taking funding away from extra curricular to buy stuff for the front office

They fired all the old staff at my place in Westminster, granted Greystar (The old management company) had their ups and downs, the office staff were loved by everyone who lived there. The fucked up thing was, the said the 2 most favorite office staff were going to stay at the property after the exchange, but Equity showed up with new staff on day 1 and fired everyone, after assuring us that those 2 were going to stay

Yep. Equity cleaned house here too. I am just praying that they dont get on my case when they see the mess I've made of that garage when they look at the water heater.

Greystar is mediocre at best. Not happy with the way they handled my move out.

Yeah, Greystar owned my property for like 2 years before they sold to Equity. A common occurrence I was finding out, contractors build nice new property's, they fill up, run them for a few years to get the most of the money, then sell to lesser companies. Who get a shittier/used property, yet still try and hike up the rent cost. ( What happened at my old place )

Surprisingly, the only thing I thought Equity was reasonable on, was my move out inspection. I busted ass for 3 days cleaning EVERYTHING. The only thing they hit me on was some touch up paint for areas I spackled over from hanging pictures/curtains/etc. Was like $20 so I got 99.8% of my deposit back

after having the 6.0 break down in the mountains a couple times I decided to stop being a cheapass and treat myself to something nice since it's something I need and need to be able to rely on.

Before the end of the year I'll be running up to Canada to pick up 4 horses for the gf, taking our shit to moab, and running up to WA to pick up a bunch of the tools, equipment, and one or two of the trucks I have in storage :bananadead:
