Towed the camper about 30 miles. Tows it way better than the sequoia. Found out the stock hitch is only rated for 1000/7500lbs which is pathetic for a 1-ton truck. Might install a class V 2 1/2” hitch in the spring time. Also don’t like the power extending mirrors. Passenger side needs assistance every time you extend or retract it. With a 1” rise hitch the camper is nose down about 2-3”

Nice truck. You will enjoy it. From what I’ve seen, most are pretty good. Just don’t drive around in regen. A buddy had to replace the drivers side head due to burnt valves.

The owner might be able to work on price or options.

I don’t think the Wifey knew how twitchy the sequoia was when towing. Had to concentrate on not dying the whole time. I think she can drive the truck while towing now. Can’t even tell it’s back there.

Oh fuck yeah. It gets really exhausting having to always be on edge like that. Hope you can make the most out of future trips so they are even more enjoyable and relaxing for your family:)

Fortunately the truck shouldn't be seeing many short trips and should have plenty of time to regen in peace on my 55 mi commute or 100 mi trip to the gf's place :homer:

sounds good, let me know. I can send you my number if that's easier to keep in touch

My brother lives in Billings and has a couple of 8.1L powered vehicles. His best investment so far is EFILive tuning...FYI.

I was wrong with what my brother used. He used the Howell Hot tune. His full sized 89 Blazer on 40’s burns all four tires through 3rd on dry pavement. Rather impressive.

Yeehaw! That’s pretty crazy! I have heard these things are pretty detuned from the factory.

I've heard good things about Wayne Hartwig tunes over on pirate but usually for LS swapped trucks.

I have a 1UZ donor for the Tacoma but the LS platform is pulling me too just because the ability to add power much more easily... doubtful that I'd be unhappy with the 1uz though

$90 for a tune isn’t bad. Have to send him the ECU which is easy to remove. He doesn’t do anything for the Allison transmission.

This would be sweet if it’s in good condition.
