    What haven’t I changed?
Recently I started getting a squeak coming from under the truck when I'm in gear and apply power, similar to the noise of a squealing belt. If I let off the gas the noise goes away. It also feels like my driveline vibrations have gotten worse. Before it was a little bit during takeoff, but now I can feel it while cruising around not just from under the seat but also in the steering wheel. I can get under there and look at some things, maybe throw a Gopro down there and drive around, but are there some things I should be looking at in particular? I can try greasing the u-joints, but maybe it's the carrier bearing going bad? Hopefully it's not something major. Thoughts? @thefatkid

Look for broken or missing seals on the u-joints, signs of grease slinging everywhere from one being busted. They will typically shed a little grease when freshly lubed, but you don't want to see a thick clump on the body. Twist the two halves of the shaft against each other. You should get just a little movement of the shaft against the ring and pinion in the diff, but the two halves shouldn't have any play against each other...they should be tight. Completely toasted u-joints you might be able to tell while it's on the truck, but you might consider taking it off the truck and seeing how freely they move. If they are really loose, I'd replace them. They should be on the snug side versus totally flopping around.

For the center bearing, look to see if it's cracked or rotted or separated from the metal sleeve. Push up and down and side to side. There should be a little flex in the rubber, but it should be firm and should not have a lot of play.

This is what you dont want it to look like...two of the four ends were completely missing the needle bearings and were rounded out. It was loud...the play in the u-joint was obvious. Easy diagnosis in my case...hardcore neglect.

Is the squealing a separate issue from the vibrations or do you think they are related?

I'm hoping they're related but I'm not certain. It's hard to hear the noise unless there are things nearby to reflect the sound back into the cab so I have no idea how long it's been going on.

I'll have a job for you soon, then. I'll be swapping diffs in my truck in the next month and doing shit to make the front locker work with any luck. I also wanted to do my clutch and shit but IDK about that

Might have to do some work on the girlfriend's TJ too

    You know what they say,

"First comes love, then comes marriage, then come Jake without a truck to wheel in because he has to stay home and work on the house and fix the sink and do all that shit that keeps @CharlieCafe from getting to ride anymore."
