Thanks, I kept seeing CORE post about it but being the procrastinating piece of shit I am I kept putting it off. Just finished leaving a comment using CORE's guidance.

Awesome! It seems that every year more and more trails are closed down due to coordinated action by various groups while the off road community struggles to notice, care or organize. And we all know once something is closed, the chances of it ever coming back are basically 0. It's disappointing to watch trails and whole areas continually shut down because people who oppose them get organized and involved while many other users don't get their input in. I've been actively trying to get more involved in the comment process for a number of FS decisions that I disagree with, but it's difficult to stay on top of everything. Reading all the documentation provided with the draft EIS is practically a full time job. It really highlights the need to donate to advocacy groups that support your interests if you don't have the time to read and comment on everything that's put out.

This whole settlement feels especially underhanded though. If you look through the history of the case, the FS was sued for added roads/trails to MVUMs without the required reviews. The intent of the law was that new trails couldn't be created (and thus added to the MVUM) without a review process (which is somewhat reasonable). However, the originally MVUMs were so bad and were missing so many trails, when users submitted corrections/updates about the existing trails (many of which had existed long before MVUMs did) they were considered 'new trails' and were required to undergo the review process. Since the FS didn't do this, they got sued and settled, and now we're stuck with a huge review of trails, many of which are old mining roads that date back over 100 years.

Done. I guess since I’m a CORE member it’s time I help them, and all of us, out with more than just a monetary donation. It’s so hard to keep up with all of this BS, but for any of you that want to add comment, CORE’s website has a short video that’s worth watching. https://www.keeptrailsopen.com/

Yours and mine both. This is a camping trip only. My truck needs love.

Have a buddy from home coming out to meet up with Noah and do that stupid hiking/backpacking stuff for 2 weeks. I talked them into having a truck camping adventure that one weekend.

Hello, I am looking at changing out the springs in my 2nd gen. Does anyone know of a TSB to have Toyota do it, or of a good shop near Lafayette?
