Hey @Squeaky Penguin , do you think that the outer plates may be enough for now to stiffen it up/reduce fatigue on the frame and buy me time before boxing in the frame (and relocating the rear shocks, and the 10 more things that will likely get batched with this)?

Yes. I only had those outer plates for years of abuse and the occasional jump with no issues.

That wasn't with an overly heavy AL camper though. :stirthepot: :p

Has anyone ever had a red light or speeding camera ticket actually get sent to collections after they did not serve you in person? Got a nice one from City of Boulder's Photo Enforcement Program

I know, I know, don't break the law if I don't want to deal with the consequences :luvya:

I heard, not personal experience, that you can fight it in court and under the Sixth Amendment you have a right to face your accuser. The camera can not appear in court and case gets thrown out.

Not sure how it would work if you did not go to court and the ticket went straight to collections. Could argue that by not going to court you waived your right and now have to pay up.

That is what I have heard as well. Not sure I would even get served since I live far away from Boulder county

Not sure about here but in Chicago they made it near impossible to fight them and if you did not pay by the deadline they doubled the fine. You were unable to renew your plates (or license, I don't remember for sure) if you had unpaid tickets. It wasn't worth the fight. There was a class action against the city pending but I don't know if it ever had results.

if it does get sent there, they will offer you an option to pay it right then and there and credit score stays safe. You could also negotiate and say i can only pay X amount would that be ok. It only hits your credit score if collections cant collect.

Could also give collections a call and see if they have anything in your name outstanding and nip it in the bud. Might have to call Boulder County and find out which collection company they use

Depending on the Company, just getting sent to collections can be reported to Credit agencies and thus effect your credit score.

I have no practical experience with photo tix, I'm special and get all of mine in person with a live human being...

Quite special I'm sure! I only know about the negotiating because a bill of mine got sent to collections and long story short, the people i owed send the bill to the wrong address so i never got it. Just paid was was owed and there we go.

"Colorado law requires drivers only have to pay a red light camera fine if they’re served notice of the violation in person within 90 days of the alleged offense, according to Ramirez and other lawyers. After 90 days, Ramirez said the citation goes away."

    https://www.denverpost.com/2019/02/26/denver-red-light-camera-speeding-ticket/
"A legal settlement in 2015 prohibits the agencies from reporting fines and other items that aren’t linked to a contract or agreement to pay."

Getting shit in the mail is not the same as being served. If you aren't served within 90 days, it goes away.
