When did this happen? Was it done on purpose? Or did it finally just let go?

There's way too much info to try to go into depth on anything.

Good places to start is the CO fishing atlas, or here.

    https://coloradofishing.net/index.htm

Both will give you a decent starting point. There's plenty of other easily obtained info for popular spots on the interwebs.

Local fly shops are good too for reports and local info.

Also, for those of us out and about in our trucks - it's always worth stopping at that little creek, beaver pond, mountain lake, etc you come across in you wheeling travels. Some of my favorite places to fish are places that I stumbled across and had no info on before trying. There's endless places to try in this state that you won't be able to find any info on.

Hm. I came down that road going Telluride to Ouray on Imogene. Looks familiar can't place where along there.

I think about fishing and read fishing fiction more than I catch anything but I will be back out on the water hopefully this weekend. I’m running out of time to get a January fish....

Brett hit the nail on the head for any advice I have.... every time you see any water while wheeling, wet a line. There is so much pressure on fish in spots that have information

Anything in the mountains is going to be painfully cold...I'm finding they are really only biting from about 10am to 2pm. I pulled a couple out last weekend at Cheeseman. This weekend is looking fantastic as far as weather goes.

Had one in my engine compartment ride 3 hours with me from Mt. Antero to Denver. Proceeded to chew harness under the hood that night. Was about 2-3k worth of damage and labor when it finished. Ruined some trip plans too that summer. GEICO took care of it minus the deductible, $250. They're assholes.

Yeah, I thought about using insurance to have the work done by the dealer... but the part cost came out to be $42 and labor was $500. So just going to do it myself

The bastards were only under there for maybe 5 minutes too.

Fuck man. Yeah electrical is something I was't going to mess with and that labor was most of it. I have a hard enough time wiring up some switches. Sounds like you got lucky in a way. Mine was a freakin marmot by the way.

Damn! That thing was stuck up in there! The 2 I saw under my truck were just laying on the muffler. Worked their way out after I sat a few feet away and watched them for a while. This was back in August too. So just now figuring out the damage they did.

I'm lucky a well know forum member here was the one who looked at my truck at the dealer. Gave me the "straight" version of whats messed up. A few evaporative emission hoses and a wire cover are what they nibbled on.

I've never fished Cheesman, so not sure how applicable my experiences are.

Little streamers have been netting fish for me. Slump buster being my current go-to.

The usual recommendation at my local tailwater is a size 20 or smaller zebra midge, rs2, etc, but I like to avoid staring at an indicator if possible.

You dead drifting it or doing the whole streamer stuff?

For some reason dead drift is only way I catch stuff with Streamers...

    Doing streamer stuff.

IMO one of the biggest benefits is I can fish water that you can't drift a nymph through.
