I typically buy mine down in Arizona or Nevada. The dealers seem to want to work with the buyers and throw in more goodies. Bought my last Ram in Az for 10k less than anywhere else.

Don’t worry @Littles we’ve all been there, and anyone who says differently is either lying or doesn’t get out much.

Has anybody had any luck changing their carrier bearing without removing their drive shaft? Thinking I could remove my center ujoint and work under the truck swapping the carrier.

It's like 10 bolts total to remove the whole driveshaft, and will make the job a lot easier. I wouldn't want to do that job working under my truck.

I have access to a lift so really not an inconvenience to work under the truck.

Have you ever used the jaw pullers? Those are a pita and not sure i have enough cuss words in my vocabulary to do it upside down. ha Also, might as well do the ujoints which will require the removal of the driveshaft. just be sure to mark everything so it is balanced when you reinstall.

    Ah nice!

The puller jaws were an absolute pita for me because i rented the OEM Tools brand from autozone so the barb that grabs the bearing wasnt very sharp and it wanted to slide when tightening but once the slack was taken up then it worked as expected.

Still, given how easy it is to pull the whole driveshaft, I would much rather do that job on a bench.

    Stuff and junk and things...
I have replaced mine 6, 7 times and never pulled the whole DS out to do it. BUT we have the #bestgen and mine has always slide right off with no issue or need for a puller.
