Speaking of mask fit test, my entire team at work has to be clean shaven until all this blows over because of the full face respirators we have to wear in case of an "emergency".

You can imagine the reaction of 20+ guys who haven't been clean shaven in years had to that lol

Meanwhile, someone like myself who can't grow facial hair is sitting there having a good laugh

Yea, I wouldn't be very happy if I had to shave my beard. I've had some form of facial hair since college and even my wife doesn't like the clean shaven version of me. :D

This just seems so odd. For weeks they said don't wear a mask, now we all have to wear masks to go along with our shaggy haircuts to really complete this apocalypse fashion.

Colorado Department of Health recommended against it and their website still says not to.

We took pictures of everyone clean shaven to just post up on our meme wall in the fire bay for later harassment lol

Yeah, some of our guys don't like the respirators and bunny suits but they are wayyy better than full MOPP gear. Plus I doubt a lot of people are able to say their work has an abundance of OT right now, I'm getting 24+ hours a week

I think the idea is less to keep you from getting sick, it’s to keep you from breathing on others to get them sick. The shitty cotton masks don’t filter, but they do contain your breath keeping you from breathing on others. Lots of people have this and are asymptotic, so if everybody has a mask on (knowingly sick or not) it should keep people from breathing/coughing on everyone and unknowingly spreading it. The mask doesn’t do shit to help you because it can get into your eyes and infect you just as easily. It’s for others. This is what I’ve been told by my wife who is an infectious disease nurse practitioner, so I trust her a bit more than the news.

I havent been clean shaved since I got out of the military in 2005. At the very least I'll use hair clippers with a short guard but most times look like a bum.20190128_094223.jpg

Depends on the mask, but you would probably pass the fit test on most versions. Key is to shave the sides daily.

yes, it’s not a government conspiracy, it’s not a mandate.

this is a basic thing you can do that MAY SAVE SOMEONE’S LIFE. Why be self centered at a time like this when it’s so easy to do this and help reduce the impact and duration of the situation?

Not saying that the virus is of no concern, but if you actually believe that everything going on is to help save lives you're either blind or all for handing over your god given liberties. I’m sure California would accept you back if you don’t like it here...

As someone who’s loved one goes off to work everyday (with preexisting respiratory issues) and literally risks there lives to help save people, let me be the first to say go fuck yourself. If that crosses a line, ban me.

I too have a loved one who is out there everyday risking his own life to save others, and I’m constantly concerned about him. Not the point.

Being that I’m considered essential, going to work everyday, dealing with the general public in a non-clinical environment, I worry about it. Not as much as I do watching this being used as an excuse to fundamentally transform our way of lives.
Never let a crisis go to waste...

It sounds like we're not really supposed to go anywhere unless we absolutely have to, but being cooped up is driving me batty! I'm either at work or stuck in my apartment basically. Today I did fill up the Taco at Costco for $1.35 a gallon and $22.19 for the tank!

Are we "allowed" to go exploring up in the mountains? Lol I have a full tank with nowhere to drive. I redid my headlights a couple weeks ago and I don't have any more parts to put on the truck for now.

In most counties, you are "allowed", but that's not the point. If the drive does not go as planned (you have a breakdown, an accident, the need to get out of your vehicle and not be socially distanced, etc.) and you unknowingly picked up the virus today at Costco, then you risk passing the virus along before you ever show symptoms. Worse is increasing infection numbers in a portion of the state that is not as equipped to handle cases as large metro areas are.
