Trick is on you. They don’t rely on GPS. They also utilize cell tower triangulation.
Your only way out is to turn off your phone, iPad, Garmin/Spot, APRS, et al.

Funny you say that, I was told by someone dirt biking in Rabbit Valley last weekend that they were turned around at the UT border.
