Went up Halfmoon road near Mount Elbert to hit Halfmoon Creek. I couldn't believe how insane it was with people through there. Halfmoon Creek ends way up top at Iron Mike Mine with pretty sweet views. Iron Mike obstacle is about 2 miles in which is somewhat technical. But getting to that spot was just stupid. When you get passed the campgrounds near the "parking spots" for Mount Elbert it's not wide enough for more than 1 vehicle. Cars pulled over thinking we could just drive up the mountain or over the trees to pass. Near the hiking trail heads had cars not even in parking spots, literally parked on the side of the road with inches to spare to pass. We stayed up by the mine until later in the day in hopes all those idiots would be gone by then, which most were. I'll never go up there again, the top of the trail barely made it worth the headache. And the obstacle was fun, didn't see anyone passed it.

You did the iron mike side, did you have to winch up from the creek like everyone else?

No made it pretty flawlessly. My buddy in his cherokee on 33s also made it without winching. Minimal damage when he slide off a rock and hit the side panel a tad. Coming down we passed a tacoma going up with 2 jeeps, 1 jeep on stock tires, temp tags. Not sure how he got up haha

Edit: I see your CO Gems post about it just recently. Also looking on trailsoffroad it says technically the route passed the Iron Mike Obstacle isn't permitted on 110J. Wonder if that's true? No signage or gates there

Sound like you're talking about the Champion Mine road, that's an offshot by the mill.

Iron Mike is a turn off way before that, in the mess of 14er hikers, and has a harder obstacle than anything on the Halfmoon road.

Halfmoon road by all the camping spots and parking for Mount Elbert is where the shitshow occurred. Champion Mine is to the right, we went to the left to Iron Mike where we only saw the 3 going up when we were coming down. Back on Halfmoon road was where the shitshow resumed, but not as bad since most were gone by then

My guess would be an unethical dealership hoping for a sucker.

How do you sit in this and not want to burn it down? Pontiac had better interiors and they never had a single interior that wasn't absolute shift.

the recurring shitshow makes me not want to go out any more :(

even for the "hardcore" trails I am concerned about getting to the TH and not being able to park my trailer

My weather stripping on the cab where the OEM cab rack would go is coming loose.

Any reason I shouldn’t put some adhesive on it and call it good?

Nice to see the burgundy and blue, insane game.

Still sick of the Altitude TV bullshit.

NBCSP had the game on but I had to stream it since NBC is blacking out our market until playoffs.

It's the "trail teams" edition. Quick google says it was toyota's way of sending off the final FJ's. Only 2500 made, some remote resi bilsteins, skid plates, KO2's, and whatnot.

"To get a FJ Cruiser Trail Team Ultimate Edition, of which only 2,500 will be produced, you will have to drop $37,455. Considering the capability you get, that price seems fair, even when compared to a loaded-up Jeep Wrangler."

So a used 2013 with 22k miles being sold for $58, I'm sticking with my earlier belief that the lot is hoping to take someone for a ride. If you look at the Facebook pics, there's no extra skid plates or remote resi shocks either.

Hold up! Holllld up, nevermind. That thing has a TRD intake on it. Now I understand the extra $20k asking price.

:notsure: Not saying I agree with the price or what they're doing. Just passing info on what that thing is.

I also went back and caught that...no skids or remote resi's...I wonder if the previous owner took them for themselves and traded it to the dealer without them lol

The 2013 TrailTeams didn't get the remote reservoirs or skids standard. Those would come on the 2014 Ultimate Trail Team edition. Not really a collector valve vehicle. That used car lot is looking for a chump.

Used car lot, not a dealer. They'll get away with it as it is not really false advertised, just over advertised. Not sure, the the last model year 2014 Ultimate Trail Teams edition might go for that much. Those FJ owners are weird and might jump on a real one for that much

Understood! My response wasn't meant to be personal in any way either.

I have nothing against anyone. Unless you're an FJ cruiser. Especially if you're a $60k FJ cruiser.
