Found an Autana 4 ruggedized for a good price but just got off the phone with Tepui and they informed me that they discontinued the Autana 4 and model specific parts.

This happens every year.

 

Been down for a few weeks due to foot surgery and I was going stir crazy so I decided that it was time to show my old Tacoma some love and upgrade a few things!

It all began with a new sound system because my neighbor was upgrading his and was building a new subwoofer box. He built me one as well and it fits perfectly behind the factory plastic (He’s an engineer)! I opted to go with a full Kicker system to replace that crappy JBL bullshit that Toyota has a weird and disturbing relationship with. It’s definitely better than stock but also didn’t break the bank so I had money left over to do other things. Since I had to take the seats out, I decided to rip out the entire interior and put down some sound deadening material. That was a PITA mostly due to the fact that it’s been hotter than Satan’s balls outside which made this part of the project MISERABLE. I also had to fabricate some special mounts for the tweeters because Toyota wanted to make my life just a little more difficult...

I then decided that it was time to clean up the rat’s nest of wiring under the hood (how my truck didn’t catch fire is beyond me) so I made a custom bracket for under the hood and wired everything up to a busbar and 100amp circuit breaker. This also gave me the opportunity to relocate and renew my light switches to the center console under the temperature controls. My first attempt at a custom bracket ended in a cracked failure but my second attempt using 16gauge steel was much more successful. I’m super happy with the results and added a future switch for a bumper LED bar (I’m giving my wife a freebie Xmas idea).

Since I was getting fancy, I decided to step it up a notch by painting my dash and trim. This was an adventure (not the good kind either). It took me three attempts before I finally got it right and I’d spent a small fortune on paint. Looks pretty sweet IMHO. I also made new engine splash guards for the wheel wells because my 1” body lift from way back when had ripped the old ones off . A nice touch was plastidipping my emblems red because... well, there’s a theme thing going on if you hadn’t noticed lol.

I’ve done few other random things like sticking a camera in the front bumper, adding ditch lights, and replacing my spotlights behind the satoshi grill with newer and brighter LED’s. I’ll be replacing the back up camera in the tailgate with a new one to move the screen from my mirror to the new head unit. Speaking of which, I’m waiting on the correct harness to come for my Chinese android head unit and “crossing my fingers” I’ll finally be able to hear the results of my new sound system!

 

They should have titled it "11 Places Not Even Try to Attempt to Camp in Colorado".

 

Hey guys, I love y'all's state and am all about the Colorado lifestyle so I am super excited to visit!!! since mine is closed for some hoax or something I am just stopping in to to ask if anyone knows of a scenic place to camp within 20 minutes of downtown Denver? Craft beer access and smoker friendly (no cigs) a must. We brought our genny and a PA system so we can bump those good vibe tunes all night
