my Tacoma on 5.29s definitely lacks low end torque because it's a fucking low output v6

But who in their right mind would think hmm I need more low down power, of course 5.29s. I would think even the shop that did the install might suggest 4.10 or 4.56s.

 

Sounds like they are trying to sell out of their bad decision of overgearing.

The 3rd gen with the double overdrive 6 speed automatic pairs really well with 4.88s and stockish tires. Stupid gearing for EPA regulations/numbers really put a dampener on engines at altitude. Also, he overpaid.

Most would never catch it, if it wasn't disclosed. He is using it as a bargaining chip to get more money. I'd be very skeptical just based off the stock looks that it has gears though.

 

Just seems like if he had 5.29s he would have to explain why his taco got the worst mpg ever to a potential buyer. @thefatkid wouldn't the dealership drive it before the sale? I would think it would be noticeable if 5.29s had been installed.
