Glad I'm in Elbert County. Before we got our place we were about to look at a home south of Elizabeth in Elbert. Went under contract before we had a chance, then it went back on the market because the people who looked at it left the gate open so their horses got out. Chose not to sell it to them lol. But there was a backup offer already before we could go look. I believe it was on 10 acres

Had to google this, but 16k acres should be about right, if I can find it at under $10/acre.

I think it only sold for like 8 million. Not bad if you get a few others to go in on it.

No where is safe from overcrowding. Lots of complaints about those not familiar with rural life. Such as people riding/walking their horses on the county roads and people speeding passed kicking up dust and rocks. Fortunately most are set straight especially by the old timers.

My brother owns the bar in Kiowa, a few months ago some random kid from Boulder, by himself for whatever reason, got some liquid courage and started bad mouthing military and police and how they should all be defunded and not supported. My brother escorted him out the side/office door so no one would give him an ass whoopin

I like living north of town because I rarely have to drive through it. Traffic has gotten so much worse in town even in just the last 6 years since we moved here. Wait til it really snows out here and all the new comers realize that Elbert county doesn't have the funds to plow and de-ice roads like the big city does.

I'm slightly north east which is nice. It's a mess in the evenings through town. I go up to Singing Hills over to Ridgegate to get to the Tech Center.
It's funny following the road conditions page because you'll get "snowpacked, not bad" to "oH sWeEt JeSuS iTs a bLiZzArD iT tOoK mY HuSbAnD 12 HoUrS tO gEt tO pArKeR"

My current project is phased (6 phases over 2 years) so every day is a Monday. Today we are pouring 100yds of footings for one area and final inspections on another :angrygirl:

That's the thing. Everybody likes the low taxes out here and won't vote to raise them, but then bitch about road maintenance. Maybe they need more cops out here generating revenue. Oh wait... not enough tax dollars for that either.
