    Boxer mix or pure?

They have a very long puppy stage. Mine is 50%/50% Boxer/Pug and at 3 is still crazy.

We put down the old girl a few months ago... She was 12. Still a puppy. It's a boxer thing.

Anyone come to the Front range from Grand Junction?

I found a transmission at Metric Offroad and will cover fuel and beers to bring it over the mountains.:cheers:

I'm going out to do the White Rim Trail in mid February. If the R150F is still stuck out in GJ, I may be able to rearrange the contents of the bed to make room.

I did that trip last year. Almost thinking about doing it this year but I have a feeling all the people who have been waiting on gears to come off backorder will come rushing down. Some things I would recommend but not required.

-Fire source, make sure you have a propane fire to help keep the very long evening hours a little warmer and more interesting. I was very cold once the sun went down. Single digits on my trip with 40s during the day.

-Wind break, setting up a wing break helped with warmth while sitting around in the hours before going to sleep. We actually did the awning and wind break to create a warmth room for hanging out.

-Heater, mainly because I'm becoming a wimp and like a warm place to hang out that is not the truck. I'll be dragging a trailer on my next trip.

-chains for the climb out, lots of north facing exposure that had some very icy sections, we got lucky they were still soft enough.

What sites did you get? I did white crack and potato bottom last time. 2 nights without another person seen was cool. This time of year keeps the tourists away.

Good idea. I'll see if I can borrow my friends propane fire pit and 20/25lb tank.

ARB is unlikely to send me the parts I need to repair the awning before installing, so I'll probably just do my normal - rain jacket/pants on top of insulated puffy jacket/puffy pants, thick wool socks, boots.

I think next winter is when I'll have a heater. Until then, the girlfriend keeps saying "I'll camp as long as it is above 20 degrees" and I put 2 Nalgene bottles of boiling water into bed under the comforter.

Good idea. I keep chains in the truck for 75% of the year for those random snow patches that linger through spring/summer as well as those early fall freak snowstorms.

If your buying 80% lowers, you're too late. You should be buying plate carriers and plates.

Don't threaten me with a good time. Ran White Rim with @mountainmonkey a few years ago and would gladly do it again.

There are a few hiking trails that you can only do from the rim, one of which is Zeus and Moses. It's worth the hike. The old cabin and "ruins" are neat to go see also. I also highly recommend downloading Gaia maps or something like that ahead of time that have the rock formations. There are a number of arches and named formations that would be easy to miss if you're just cruising along and don't know they're there.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm a Gaia pro, so I'll make sure I have whatever layer you're talking about that has the arches/formations as well as my secret government data sources I acquired while working on recreation.gov maps/data.
