Only a little rain at the beginning and no snow. Great day. Started to head home around 6ish or so and right about Rifle my buddy saw they had closed I-70 at Silverthorne. We stayed in Rifle for the night and headed out this morning. Got just past the tunnel and they closed Floyd Hill for "safety" reasons. Waze rerouted us through Black Hawk and down the canyon but then rerouted us a few minutes later for Squaw Pass. Never took that route before and it was a bit hairy at first but worked out great as I think we avoided a complete bumper to bumper jam from the Black Hawk exit to Wheatridge which looked like the exit back onto I70 was closed with a bunch of plows and cars stacked behind them. We did pull a Subaru out while on the downside of Squaw Pass Road but skipped the rest of the idiots. Tacoma was a champ until I tried to back into the driveway. It took some persuasion to get her over the sidewalk curb. The new Pirellis Scorpion ATs are a winner as well.

Then I snow blowed our three car driveway and our elderly neighbor's three car driveway, sidewalk and another neighbor's sidewalk. I came home to a 'broken' snowblower as a jack stand fell off the wall while my wife was starting it and knocked out the plastic ignition key and killed it and she didn't know what happened. I fucked with it for 5-10 minutes before I saw the key on the floor. Thank God, as this is some heavy, deep shit.

Also, HTF can a car take up all the lanes on a three lane highway? Do you need all three lanes in a snowstorm?:anonymous:

For those cars I told them there was nothing I could hook a strap on and dug/pushed them out. I’m not gonna take on that kind of liability haha

The bottle I got was a gift, my mom went into a liquor store and asked for a good whiskey and the guy said “well we got 3 bottles of this and you’ll probably never find it in Colorado again”

They tried doing that without the boring machine.

    They failed.

So it got ripped out by the excavator. Been unhooked since and they say they’re going to come out and rebore it properly when the construction is done.

A few years ago, I helped a RAM 1500 get unstuck a few January's ago trying to go up to the Needle Eye Tunnel. They had a cooler full of shitty beer, no blankets, food, or anything else and had already been stuck for hours. I hooked up the tow strap and gave them a yank and looking in my mirror they kept getting closer and closer and closer... They were just flooring it.. and starting to aim towards the slope going off the road.

Fortunately they stopped, I still had my rear window (strap didn't break), and I didn't get pulled off the cliff.

Since then, I don't hook up a strap to anyone that I don't know or trust.

Yesterday I used the MaxTrax almost a dozen times getting FWD cars, Subarus, Suburbans and such unstuck. I went out in the morning and in the evening.

Also, @literallynothing - a lot of newer cars don't have permanantly attached tow points - most likely to meet safety / crash regulations. They have a threaded tow loop that usually goes through the front or rear bumper where there is a small square access cover. It is usually kept with the spare tire.

86 and surround roads are closed around me until noon they say. @YamaDirtrider @Nazupag524 you guys want to go bash some snow later. I'm sure 86 is littered with cars. At some point today I'll head over to my brothers off 33, his plow truck slid down the hill of his driveway last night

long shot, but i wanted to give a shoutout to the red second gen (with a cvt tent on low racks and a white hard tail bike under in the bed) that drove to colorado springs from breck yesterday. i was in the cement 3rd gen in front until wilkerson pass then behind you in woodland park.

you kept plenty of space behind me coming down hoosier while everyone behind you seemed to be bunched up. plenty of space in front of you going through woodland park also.

i had to pull off on wilkerson to piss and that chevy behind me/in front of you was riding my ass the whole was and was freaking me out.

thanks for being a good driver

Who was the white 2nd gen TRDOR DCSB I saw on 26th Ave at City Park yesterday around 6pm? I slowed down to see if you were stuck, but maybe you were just helping shoveling.

Bed rack, red or orange traction boards mounted on top with some other stuff.
