Did your dog get bit or just sprayed?

 

There's a lot more room under the deck on the south side, so the boy is getting after it with a shovel.
He hits what we think is concrete slop but it turns out to really be a large slab of flat rock covering a sump pit that I now remember the prior owners telling me about.
Skunk is in there.

So with the rock propped up, the boy is now wailing away on the skunk with the shovel. I figure he's got to be decapitated at this point.
The boy reaches down and grabs him by the tail.
Did I mention the stench has my eyes watering and my gag reflex kicking in?
Little bastard is STILL ALIVE!

 

2 mins and no update, wtf? I am ....seriously though, holy crap that is crazy.

 

Wait... after you shot it 5 times with a pistol, and your boy shot it with, I dunno know, this thing is still alive and your boy wanted to finish it off with a shovel blade?

I'm so confused, intrigued and scared.

 

Most excitement for me since February 2020.

Seriously, this is just what I needed, lol. Sounds like my household.

 

Wife is freaking out in the bathroom trying to cleanse the dog.

And asking him, "so let me get this straight...you let the boy shoot a gun at a skunk through our deck?"

So the boy chucks him out in the yard and it's finally shotgun time.
I shot him once, kicking his hind end up in the air and he starts taking off. I shoot him again and this one rolls him 2 or 3 times. He starts taking off again. Third shot finally drops him and this superhero skunk from hell is finally dead.
I text the neighbor, tell him to keep his damn skunk off my property and oh, where does he want him?

 

So now the house reeks. The dog reeks. The internet is out.
The cable for the internet runs under the deck. Might be related.
