There were known head gasket issues for 05-06. If the rest of the engine is solid, I would replace them vs gambling on a used engine.

Not sure I was going to losses the filter and catch some oil to look. The coolant should settle on the bottom right?

The rest is solid. For the price it seems like a whole engine is about comparable to the cost of head gaskets?
Any reason why a new head gaskets wouldn’t last another 200k?

Unless you want a new truck, I'd invest in fixing this one - especially if you do it yourself to save a bunch of labor costs. The new, redesigned head gaskets should last a long time.

Damn I haven’t been in here for a while. I wish I could’ve gone snow bashing with ya but we were busy all last weekend trying to dig each other out. I worked four 20hr shifts in a row. Company put us up in hotels all weekend. I didn’t even make it home til Tuesday.

If you ever need some assistance over there I'm not far from you  I'm hoping to get the rear hydraulic lift working on the gator to start landscape raking the yard and fields. Wiring instructions aren't the greatest :(
