    I agree.
Almost got the fender off, down to messing with the antenna. And of course we are having 40mph gusts, so I had to move back into the street so i don't get crushed. Godfuckingdammit. :annoyed:

And the city has just now flooded me with work orders for wind related door damage. Happened last week, but now that they all want the next 4 days off, it needs fixed.

Got a call from my Ins. co. today. The big guy says that I have a serious problem on my hands and the tree has got to go. He has suggested emailing/calling the city, so I did. The email trail has begun. Of course they are all on vacation this week...
I know the senior coordinator for risk management, we dated for a while and fortunately left on good terms. Maybe she'll pull some strings. I also know the forestry guys. :fingerscrossed: Have to sit and wait for the rest of the week.

That email and the pics I sent got the ball rolling. Forestry says don't park or stand under it, got that in print. Forestry will be coming by today or tomorrow to take a look. The most they can do is tag it as a hazardous tree. But now I'll have something for an attorney to work with.
I'm gonna go and fix a buddy's clothes dryer, then he's buying me drinks.

    The partial email

    "Hi Brett,

Thank you for sending along all of this information including the pictures. I apologize that I was at another office building for a meeting and missed you this morning.

I will take a closer look at the neighbors Cottonwood and follow-up.

In these cases, the only authority we have is to enforce on dead or dying private trees that may impact public right-of-way (i.e. sidewalk and street). It looks like that is a strong possibility here especially how the limb bounced into the road after it failed. Again, I would like to take an in-person look and see if there is any way that we can help.

The limb that came down was clearly dead but if the tree is overall in fair condition then the situation may not warrant complete removal, maybe just safety pruning. This is only speculatory and I will follow-up here soon.

In the meantime, since it is windy again today, I would recommend parking any vehicles out from under this tree and do not stand or work under this tree as well."

Glad you have some recourse in this shit show of a situation. Bet that old fart never expected you to run it up the flagpole like this... He may have a thing or two to learn yet about not being a shit neighbor...

Successful dryer repair. I really needed that win today. My buddy and his super cute roommate are now getting me drunk. :D

I've seen a CVT-type tent on a Honda Fit. Good on them for getting out, assuming they're actually using it.

    Guy walks into a bar.
Orders a beer and a shot.
Does the shot and drinks the beer.
Looks at something in his pocket, shrugs, and orders another round.
After a half dozen or so, and repeating the process each time, the bartender asks..
"you've had a few, and you keep looking in your pocket, are you ok and what are you looking at?"
    The guy replies...
"I'm fine, no worries, thanks for asking. It's a picture of my wife, when she starts to look good, I'll be heading home."

Change of heart, fuck it, it stays as is. Too much work for a cheap fender. Besides it might get fucked again thru the winter.
Still looking for a hood and fender in the red variety.
