So far it looks like wind blew down power lines/transformers, which then sparked fires.
We’re safe, thankfully east of any evacuations, and out of town for the weekend now.

 

Damn. Power lines again. Winds down there seems impossible.

my house was in the pre evac zone. grabbed some shit and stayed at my girlfriends tonight. seems like the winds died down a bit and better weatheris moving in

was pretty crazy when i got to my house though, smelled like a camp fire and the clouds above the house were orange. glad it seems like most of you are good. also know a handful people that lost everything. pretty sure my moms childhood house in boulder is gone. was kinda of weird i really didnt even know what to grab. i was safe, the dogs are safe and thats kinda all the mattered i guess.

 

I hope you are all safe and excluded from the destruction.

Got the Dog and drove through the fires around Hospital. Fireman words of advice to me at bridge "Don't die".

Still can't get into Superior to see but everything East of me burnt (Avista and Schools being OK I think).

 

Funny about not knowing what to Grab- I got the Dog and his bed. A backpack full of useless things and my Passport (From Sister Text...). Did take pics & video of "vaulable" stuff for insurance.

But it's so weird how mind goes blank- Birth Certificate Nope, Laptop- nope. Huge ass pile of Tacoma parts- got a pic...

 

That stuff can be replaced.
A hassle yes,but replaceable.
As long as you and the dog are safe that's what matters

Waiting to see who moves back here first- you or Charles. Last he heard his house he sold in spring had survived.

 

I’m supposed to be back in Feb for a week but my guess is they out travel restrictions back on us before then.

 

Glad to hear you and the pup got out safely at least.

 

Also, let me know if there’s anything any of you might need.

I have no idea what we can do to help, but you never know.

Thanks for the well wishes. Fortunately I am farther north/east in Broomfield/Erie and I’m glad to hear that @CO MTN Steve is ok. I lived in Superior for a few years in the mid-2000’s and my wife works at Avista so this disaster hits close to home for us. We were able to shelter a family and their pets at my in-laws’ unoccupied house in Longmont last night, but my heart breaks for all of the other families affected by the disaster.

 

His profile page says he was on the site this morning, so that's promising.
