There not that much to invest in besides ordering one. There like $200 and work great. I’ve used a 2kw to take the chill off in the wedge. And a 5k will cook you out of a rtt

A shot of Fireball and a shot of mid or top shelf tequila, mixed together, is worth trying.

Yes, but $200+ is a lot to drop on something that I also need to have some sort of extra battery for as well, when if I find out she still doesn’t like it, I won’t use it again.

I’ll camp in the cold with no heater and like the simplicity.

mph, and a lot of the “2kw” and “2.5kW” ones are just detuned 5kW running very inefficiently. So I’d be putting even more money in to get the afterburner controller.

Mine has been running great above 7,000 in my camper. Spent several nights around CB recently. I got the 5kw which is more than I need but this allows you to keep it on low keeping battery draw low. Have a friend that lived in Breck with his for a winter too. Someone did the math and made this chart but again, I just keep mine at 2.0 pump speed and it provides plenty of dry heat. No frost or condensation issues. Mine isn’t portable but happy to help.

Green if the handle is green right? That one. No issue with the cold, at least down to 12°

I'd really like to see more info on this as I too am interested in the diesel option. Propane causes way too much condensation.

Also, you have to get the correct ID fuel line. The one the Chinese heaters come with is too big. May be one reason others are not getting the right burn.

    lol, mostly a joke.

You'd know... diesel for off-road equipment has no road taxes and is dyed red..

The green handle thing... not any formal code for that one AFAIK. some places use black handles for diesel. Can't recall but I think BP gas stations use green handles for gas. I always triple check before I fuck up

Not having a girlfriend is a way cheaper option. Mine turned into a wife and kid, and now we don't winter camp.

Tune in next week for more Pro Tips from Austin. :hattip:

Green. Haven’t seen anyone around selling red.

as for battery, running a dual battery is all you need. There’s is more amp draw on start up and shutdown because of the glow plug. Once running they draw very little.

the 2kw and 5kw units are different size. Make sure the dimensions are correct and not branded wrong.
