Natural gas lines are very low pressure, always better to shut the line off, but you can have a buddy hold their hand over the open line when you disconnect, then add a valve inline to stop the flow and continue on with the project. No Smoking is always a good idea when doing this.

    Nope.

Cool, mine is also uninsulated, so I'm glad to hear the cost for keeping the ambient temperature up is manageable.

My biggest issue with the garage in winter isn't me being cold (I can put on a jacket), but my fingers touching cold metal. The go numb and lose functionality fast. I think I have some circulation issues after spending a bit too much time on my bike in sub-freezing temperatures. Keeping stuff at 50+ would be nice.

I actually just messed with my gas line in my house. Was pretty easy, turn off anything that runs on gas (water heater, furnace, oven, dryer), turn gas off at the meter and then wait 5 minutes before starting your work

Many times. Use to do some demos there. Also there's some accessible backcountry near there.

A disclaimer so as nobody is mislead, my garage is attached single car with a ceiling, no exposed rafters and it faces due South so the door gets to soak that sun when it's out. No insulation on two exposed walls or above the ceiling.
    YMMV with your application.

Was too far away while I was in the crawl space. Easy enough to palm it and attach nipple with valve. Took way less time.

I used to set up hot taps in high pressure sour gas lines. When I was done, I'd take off over the nearest hill. Told them not to start until they couldn't see me anymore

    The "What Tire Size?" app.

The money made from that will be reinvested into "What Gear?", "What Lift?", and "Where's the Nearest Gas Station?" apps.

That's available in the premium version of "What Tire Size?".
