yep I second urgent care. Take a book, usb battery pack because unless you’re in immediate medical need you may be waiting for 6 hours like I did for a split eyelid when other dogs were coming in mangled from being attacked in the park…

    Thanks guys.

It seems to be an infection on his nose and all the vets are saying 2 month wait for new patients. Not sure why that matters. I don't think its ER worthy but it cant wait 2 months either.

One vet said if I was an existing patient then they could see me next week but since Remi is a new patient it would be September. She said if i called evolution ER they could setup an urgent appointment for tomorrow.

To be honest, the whole thing seemed like a quick cash grab. Paying ER prices and taking up their time for a simple prescription ointment is kinda extreme.

Anyway ill keep calling vets till i find one who cares about the health of the animal more than dollars.

There are doctors out there who will do telemedicine prescriptions (ie, they'll give you a prescription over a video call). Maybe there are vets that do the same? If not, maybe look into the small-town vets. The type that will do house calls down a 4x4 road to see your horse. I bet those folks are legit and don't mess around, and if all goes well you can get some time in the mountains out of the deal.

calling vets in Loveland/Lafeyette/Eerie/Berthoud/Bennet/Byers might be a good idea, i doubt they're as slammed as Denver area vets but idk

Our vet has been 3-4 weeks out lately except for appointments with vet techs... I'm not surprised you are having trouble.... Here is the vet I used when I lived in Denver. Russian vet. Dr. Chepelevik.

Try Alpine Glenn veterinary clinic. 3034665724. They are off 104th and just west of pecos, just the behind dealerships. They are who I use and they are always available to squeeze you in for the most things. They are two person operation but always have time to see my dog or cats on short notice and they are very affordable they won’t over charge you, very reasonable people.

Seems impossible to find now days. Our doggo just had surgery a couple months ago and I had to closely review the charges after I noticed one of the meds listed we didn't have. Then I noticed there were things charged that shouldn't have been like charged too many of a certain med. Close to 2-300 dollars worth too. She had super swollen/red eyes once (I actually posted it here) and the vet suggested a ton of different meds... at once.. since it "could be a few things" I said well lets try just 1 so if it happens again we can see which works. First one cleared her up within a day. Vets almost try to guilt you into things too, like you aren't taking care of your dogs. We stick with this place those cause our dogs are very comfortable with the techs which took awhile. I just don't want to go through that process again, it's so stressful for the doggos

I looked at telemed options and all say "due to local regulations, prescriptions are unavailable" which kinda defeats the purpose. Maybe that is just be a denver thing.

I gave them a call and she was super sweet on the phone. She let me explain what is going on and then scheduled me an appointment for Thursday. So far, this is the only clinic that allowed me to explain the issue without cutting me off or being impatient. Thanks for the recommendation!
