Did they say how many hours and at what rate?

I am not sure what the going rate for welding is, but for the past 6 or 7 years in denver and philly I have typically paid between $75-100/ for basic cutting/welding/fab work like slider and cab mounts and shock relocates. That's like 10 hours of welding at the price they quoted you...5 hours a side. Sounds a little heavy to me. I think the 2 hours i was quoted was a bit low, but labor should be less than $500 for both sides, IMHO. Plus cost of kit obviously.

@Skratch&sniff - Last year I was quoted 2 hours @ $75/hr to install a DRT kit. Not sure if it took longer than as it was wrapped up with other welding and mods, but I would expect to pay cost of kit, plus a minimum of $150-$200 for install, depending on hours and rate. could be as much as what @BalutTaco quoted at $600 for install depending where you go.

I called two reputable shops in Denver. The first one quoted me 1K, just labor. I’d still need to bring the parts in. The second one quoted me 1.1K, out the door with a DRT mount.

 

I don’t think they did, but the 1K quote was from Tru Automotive, where I usually go, and the 1.1K quote with parts included came from Mountain Yotas

Yoo. Gotta get this off my chest. Had a stray have kittens under my shed. & yesterday a fucking kid speeding through my neighborhood (live in Aurora) ran over the mama cat. I hate cats but they were special. Watch your speed in the neighborhoods everyone.

I have the same problem in my neighborhood.
Thanks for taking care of the babies, theyre little enough they may be able to be tamed and adopted, if you can catch them.
