You can google cast iron how to whatever, get 470 hits and they'll all be different.
If it's seasoned right, the pan smooths out on it's own.
Not supposed to use Pam, but I do. I like to spray it on then buff it out. Crisco works well too.
Everyone says 450 degrees, but 350 for a half hour does a great job.

Just saw a stolen Kia Sorento get dumped.
Was walking the dogs, heard an impact… then two cars come screeching to a stop half a block later at the corner of the block I was on… They then peeled off heading away from me, with the Kia driving on the rear passenger rim with a flat tire. Half a block down, they both stopped next to each other… yelled something.
Then the Kia sped around the other car to the curb and stopped and got out into other vehicle and left.
I went up to it and a nice set of Knipex pliers were sitting on the passenger seat, the plastic on the bottom of the steering column was ripped off and the vehicle was still in gear with the radio and accessories on.

I REALLY wanted to grap the nice pair of Knipex pliers that were used in the theft, but I left them on the passenger seat and called the cops to report it.
