It is not a fun drive.Nebraska and Iowa are both very wide states. The Kansas route is a bit less uninteresting...

But if you do it I can recommend some places to go.

 

I've lived in Kansas, can confirm. they have the curious locust swarms and green farmland.
Also driven across Nebraska and Iowa, very friendly state with the index finger salute. 1st wife was from Iowa.
have you ever driven across Montana though?
You can literally see 100 miles + of road in front of you, and think to yourself, "in an hour, I'll be there"
and then you see the next 100 mile stretch of road...

Yeah, no complaints about Nebraska or Iowa other than the 10 hours it takes to traverse them. I've done the drive twice in each direction (plus the Kansas way once each way) and will probably do it again before the end of the year.

I haven't had the pleasure of Montana. Maybe someday. I hear some people really like it.
