This guy is 14 in December. First real dog I've owned. No kids. Getting verklempt just thinking about it.

 

Excellent advice, this is the time and you will be thankful you did later. won't take long at all with the bed off.

 

And @ShiftyShank can coat it real well against rust while the bed is off as well.

His whole story was the best days of my life. He had a habit of taking dumps on the patio and not the grass, used to annoy me but i wouldn't mind it now.
The story:
My girlfriend at the time (now wife) and I got a call a call from a friend 8 years ago because a breeder was about to give a bulldog to a shelter cause he had a heart murmur and was "defective". We were looking to adopt but never considered an English bulldog, figured the breed doesn't match our active lifestyle. Anyway, we went to see him and fell in love. He was running around wanted to wrestle and after know he was about to be given up we took him in. Almost 9 years later this pup has had the best life ever. Traveling to countless national and state parks, flying "first class" on southwest flights, camping under countless starry nights. Even had a Peragon truck covers reach out and make him a brand ambassador! We've gone to soft openings of new breweries and beer releases because of Boozer. This pup loved hiking in the snow, camping, offroading, anything in the truck really, and paddle boarding. The heart murmur didn't effect him until June 2021 when his heart began to fail and was unable to push his fluids around, they'd end up pooling in his belly. Vet gave him 6 months. The trooper lasted another 10 on top of it. Got on a medication regiment and monthly drainings and you'd swear nothing was wrong. Gave him his morning pills and shot and said goodbye and headed to work. He passed away soon after during his morning nap. The vet and her staff called him the miracle pup because dogs aren't meant to last that long with such a diagnosis, let alone a bulldog.

 

Having emissions done is a real test of patience.
