I remember my mother's 80's something VW Dasher, 4 door. Was allowed to drive it occasionally.
we lived 5 miles up a dirt road and dad was constantly replacing front wheel bearings on it.

I just had to Google ‘Dasher’. It’s kinda more like a Jetta than a passat. Weird. I guess older models were typically smaller.

I went home to England this summer for a month and whilst rummaging through my Dads shed I came across 2 Mk1 grills one with, one without spots. I got rid of my mk1 in 1997! I really need to get round to flogging them someday

The Dasher is a B1 which is a Passat in the rest of the world.
I have both grilles for the GTI and swap them out from time to time. Both have Kamei grill spoilers.

I had a clapped out '99 passat in high school. The thing was an absolute piece of shit, but would never just keel over and die. Brakes were useless on it so I would downshift to decel, and drop er wayyyy down if I needed to shave speed off exit ramps

Good memories in that thing. It definitely taught me how to drive a stick proper, too.

Edit: it was a '97 and ugly af.

My mates and I were into our golf’s in our younger years. We managed to get two of our cars onto the front page of a magazine two months in a row…
I was the mechanic, blue golf was a chippie (sub/speaker installs), gold buddy was painter (painted both cars), another buddy was a welder (Audi flush door handles, remove seams, remove rear license plate to lower bumper), Fun times!

Nay. Only got the GTI MK2. The Rallye is like a better running but lesser looking version of the Lancia Delta Integrale.

Better running is questionable with the stock VW G60 G-Lader .........

Search "Missing 411" and fall down a scary podcast/website/YouTube rabbit hole.

One thing to keep in mind that statistic is raw number and doesn't mention the people found.

Just wanna confirm with those that have done this before. This is a healthy amount of steel particulates for a front diff break in?

    Edit:
Oil came out looking dirty briefly. Then clean like new.

Recommended next interval for oil change? Or good to go for standard intervals? (75k mi?)
