I should clarify… way back in the day, they “sealed” the overlapping cast iron pipe joints by packing with horse hair and them melting lead into it. Inside the pipes was definitely sewage and rust. The original HVAC was also coated in asbestos that was crumbling, so we wrapped it with insulation to defer and contain the dust.

Rentals…and borderline slum lord, but hey, the rent for an entire house with garage, basement, big back yard was only $1900 split between 5-8 people! :anonymous:

I'm pretty sure there is a similar method is used today with molten lead and some sort of horse hair replacement.

Yeah, Fed Ex. Shipping was relatively cheap when you think of the miles it has to travel.

Hopefully the snow didn't fuck anyone today. I did get to take my snowblower for a spin, probably not needed as the sun is out now melting everything. Still, good to get a test run in

I bought a T4R last September. Rolled off the lot with 5 miles on the ODO. It has had its first three oil changes done for free by the dealership. These included something like a 1000 point inspection and usually a quick spray wash.

While changing the oil last week, I replaced the cabin air filter. When I removed the filter, the below rubber was lodged in the airspace above the filter. I assume it is simply leftovers from the factory but figured it is worth getting another opinion.

Also, this implies that the cabin filter was never checked as a part of Toyota’s oil change inspections. If I remember correctly, they did try to push a cabin filter on me once. Of course, I told them no. Not really complaining.. just stating an observation because they should have found this piece of rubber before I did. Also, if this rubber was below the cabin filter then it would have caused a real issue with the fan.

Do you guys think it is a piece of scrap or is my car going to implode?

I assume this is all below the plastic gutter piece that’s between the windshield and hood?

I wouldn't know to be honest, was just searching to see if there was supposed to be a seal around the cover, and that pic popped up. What's in the pic is supposed to deflect water draining from the windshield onto the cabin filter. I'm not sure if whats in the pic is hard plastic or a rubber deflector.

Kinda a big piece to be "left over". Can you post a pic of where it fell out from, and maybe we could take a look at our own vehicles?

Does anyone know if the Coors brewery store in Golden has tin tackers (metal signs) or if you have to order offline?

I'm gonna have to start a thread for this so it doesn't get buried in the bs thread.

33 pieces. This might take a minute.

How many of you with wives would be able to lay this out in the living room?
