The 'dead cap' from cutting Wilson would kill our salary cap more than just playing him does. Having billions in Walmart money doesn't change those rules. However, no cap on coaches salary. Hackett should have been fired at least 2 weeks ago after losing to the Raiders at home. They can absolutely buy out his contract and move on.

example. Juwan James was cut last year but still counts as 7+million of this year's 209mil salary cap due the guaranteed money on his contract paid as a signing bonus. The signing bonuses are spread out over all years of a contract.

Wilson currently has a dead cap amount of 129million

Definitely in for a pair of wedges!
I have a light I can bring you, should be the same as any other. I need to do the washer stack to see what angle would work. Might not be this week though.

Would that amount still hit cap if they truly bought him out, though, not cut him? As in waste a ton of money now with the only advantage being you are not married to Russ. Asking because I truly do not know.

I'm also not a Broncos fan, nor do I hate Russ. Just a fun topic as the team somehow finds a way to worsen each weekend.

I’ll take some measurements as well to see how thick the fat side needs to be and I’ll figure out a way to get you one of the lights for mock up.

Ffs this has been an awful football season.
    Russ should ride the pine.
And my college team just replaced a potato with a pedo... Fucking Auburn is going to be a cesspool for a while, at least Walmart can begin moving on despite the cap hit...

a buyout like you're talking isn't an option at all. Goes against the salary cap rules in place. Broncos are 100% stuck with him for at least 3 to 4 years before the dead cap number is more manageable and 5 before there is no dead money at all.

The VW Golf came with GT Radial studded snow tires when I got it a few years ago, just never put them on since it wasn't really needed. Decided to this year since we're down to just the Tundra and the Golf, the Mrs. feels safer in the truck.. but wow are they impressive. Tread depth is near the end so I can't imagine how good they are new. Only issue is how long do these last when it's not snowy and are studded tires worth it in Colorado for the 5-6 snows we get where they'd actually be used.

all of the these "contracts" should be performance and winning based. Play like shit and get a salary cut - lose games and get a salary cut. If the incentive to not play like shit and lose was big enough maybe we could dump some of these LOSERS! Should be true for all professional sports IMO.

Nowhere near as long as they should when we have many warm and dry road days. Also studded tires are just ruining the roads.

Washington has done studies and concluded that studded tires are really only beneficial on clear ice covered roads. Otherwise, they perform worse on all counts in all other conditions.

    https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/research/reports/fullreports/551.1.pdf

I went pretty deep researching this years ago on this after getting stuck riding my motorcycle in the terrible studded tire caused ruts in Boulder canyon and wondered how terrible the roads could get from that.

I agree! performance based should be the name of the game. They do miss out on incentives for losses though so there is that. It's the duration of the contracts I hate.

Well it's a good thing Colorado spends about 3 dollars a year to fix the roads or I might feel bad for using them. Not sure how much of the fact sheet is accurate. It says Alaska banned studded tires which isn't true. I had studded tires when I lived there, they just have to be off by May. And studies from 1994.. surely there's been changes in technology for tires since then. I would think if they're so damaging then they would in fact be banned. In my experience (studies :D) tells me studded tires are better than studdless winter tires, I was more so curious how long they last compared to standard winter tires and if going with studded is worth it.

The only "vehicle" that I run studded tires on in the winter here in Cali-rado is the Mukluk

i dont think Russ is fully the issue. New QB coming into a new offense with a new coach thats almost polar opposite playing style of russ and the previous broncos coaches. Its gonna be a hot minute before they figure their shit out

Yeah, I recall on week 2 NFL pre-game they had Sean Payton (Pretty good offensive guy) and he couldn't understand the offense Broncos were running that don't utilize Wilson's strengths at all. Called it a classic case of trying to fit a QB into an offense instead of building an offense around the QB.
