Colorado B.S. Thread

Ugh, I had one of those for a bit... It was non running. Had to drain the gas tank (behind the bench seat), strip it down and recoat the inside to clear the rust out. Then rebuild the carb. Then new battery. Once it was driving I realized how much of a money pit it was and gave it back to the owner and got paid for getting it running. I don't miss smelling all those unburned hydrocarbons.

EDIT: Oh, and fixed electrical, replaced wiring, taillights, ordered LMC catalogs, blah blah blah.

 

i had a 61 at one point that my roommates grandpa sold me for $500 and drove it 5 hours back to my house, sat in my backyard for two years and then gave it to that roommate for a wedding gift haha

 

Ordered a part from RockAuto and had it shipped to a Colorado address.

What a time to be alive.

 

Yeah i just ordered some wipers and oil filters this past week. I guess they figured out how to deal with taxes after all the bitching lol

 

Almost like it was a solvable problem the whole time.

They even got the $0.27 CO delivery fee that just became required by law over the summer.

 

I'm guessing the cost to fix was far less than the lost sales

 

15 year old me would have bought that truck and buried myself in JCWhitney catalogs..... 10 years from now we will all regret not jumping on it when we had the chance and are frustrated with a broken computer that wont air out a fart in a modern car.

 

I owned/daily drove a few vehicles built in the 60's, but they weren't vintage back then.

I keep poking around to see if I can find a decent deal on an older 80s GMC. The family ranch I grew up on still has one they bought brand new. They also had an old Jeep J10 that was bad ass

 

My dad ordered this K2500 in the summer of '85, dropped off at the dealer in December '85, went to our local plow business for its 8' Fisher hydro setup, and then got Ziebart'd. It has less than 66k on it now. 6.2 diesel, granny low manual, HD springs making it a 1-ton. It was used on the 425-acre farm for plowing, dump, junkyard runs, and recovered me twice. My dad got a '04 Duramax and I got the 6.2, drove it from the farm in NH to Salida in April of 2004, and the odo turned 36k miles when I got home.

Yeah they're either complete junk or want 8k cause that paint is decent..
