Anyone running a one piece driveshaft? Where’d you get it from and what did it cost you? Any issues? Would like to kill my take off vibes once and for all

I want to say it was $650 for a double cardan 1 piece built from scratch. I have had no issues with it whatsoever in over 4 years. No regrets. The u-joints for the DC joint are a different size than the OEM, so I carry one of each in the truck. I did cut off the mounting bracket for the center support / carrier bearing because it was rubbing slightly.

Thanks for the response. Does it sit lower than OEM?

It does. If you want to see how much lower it will be, tie a string from tcase flange to the diff and that should be a good approximation.

I feel like way too many people get hung up on the ground clearance thing switching to a 1 piece driveshaft. If you're not already getting hung up on your 2 piece driveshaft, you're not going to all of a sudden start because you switched to a 1 piece. I do have a crawlbox that pushes my tcase back 5.5" from stock, so my angle is steeper, but even with a 1 piece, 85-90% of the shaft is tucked up in the frame and sits above the gas tank and your skids. If your gas tank and shaft arent scuffed, I wouldn't worry about it. It's really only the last 12-18 inches that sit below the gas tank.

Figured I'd throw this out there for anyone that's looking for a 1 bedroom apartment with an attached garage and an 8ft tall door; my place down here in Castle Rock will be available on 5/19, and I'm on the hook for rent till 6/15 unless someone moves in sooner, so you'd be helping me out. It's been a sweet setup for me the past few years, but I've outgrown it. I've been able to work on my truck in the garage here with no complaints for the past 3 years, which I think is rare to find in an apartment community. They just listed it as available on their website a few hours ago, so you can snipe this if you're interested. PM me for details, I'll give you a link to their website which has the floorplan and all that.

Also, its been a long time since I wished you all a happy Friday.......

Thanks man! After 7 years it was time to set down some roots. Everything finally fell into place this with my property back East finally coming back up in value, and prices settling out here.

One day it will make sense to buy a little piece of land and build a nice home like my Dad did back in 1989.

Congrats! What area did you decide to settle? Last time we wheeled together you were thinking about the Buena Vista area.

Its a new build in Elizabeth just across from spring valley golf course. The log cabin in the mountains will have to wait a few more years.
