I believe re-routing the exhaust is only necessary when switching to long arms. Rubi's have front and rear 44's and the other models have front 30's and rear 44's. Some models have a 35 rear, but it's pretty rare I think. Also, gearing was an option. My Sahara had 4.10's to my surprise, but some have 3.73's.

As to the Jeep questions. You can run 35's on a sport...problem is they come with a D30 front and D44 rear. Which last I checked were geared with 3.73's...the mileage will take a shit and the get up and go will be slow, almost painfully slow, but livable if your don't mash the skinny pedal. I have seen this setup run all of MOAB and so far the only upgrade my buddy has made is re-geared to 5.13's. He has since sleeved and gusseted the front axle.

The Rubicon has D44 front and back with 4.10's. I ran mine with 35's for over 25k miles with this set up. After some very heavy wheeling (MOAB / Rubicon) I finally broke the front axle. So replaced both front and rear with D60's and 5.38 gears and 37" tires. I sold it shortly after doing the rebuild.

If its a weekend wheeler and you want to run 35's that's an easy 2.5 inch lift that is very capable and with the stock Rubicon 4.10's doesn't suck to bad. The 3.73's will be livable until you can save up enough cash to rebuild them. One other thing to consider is that the D30 will house a 5.13 gear, but it causes several problems with drive lines and is very weak due to its size in the D30 carrier. So if in the future you wanted to go to say a 5.13 which is great for 35's then the D44 axle is a better bet. If you ever wanted to re-gear to 5.38's which was amazing for my liking, you couldn't use the D30

On a side note...I am buying a lift soon and would be cool to do a meet and greet to help me install it. I know perfectly well I can install the lift on my own, I can use all the on base tools on Fort Carson or Peterson. I really only want to do it for the friendship and good memories. The one thing I would truly need help on is a cab mount chop because I have zero welding experience.

Hey man, that's a pretty good stack of info on the jeeps. If I ever decide to go that route I'll take it all into consideration. The cab mount chop is pretty easy but I never welded plates on mine.

There's not enough bandwidth for what's happening.
The Big O that I contacted here wanted $100 back when I put the 884's in. I did them myself. I did the 885s myself as well. I would actually pay $100 if I were to go to 886's though.
