If anyone has any kind of work open I just need to start paying bills by mid Feb. I think I've got enough to make 2 more mortgage payments. Depending on life

 

What kind of work?

 

I work in the chemistry industry by trade - lab work service and sales. But I'll take anything available I've applied for construction work as of this morning

it helps if you spread sheet everything you apply for so you can show that employers just ghost

 

I’m getting up in years but my better half and I have kids who are trying to get by. I tell my friends how the world has turned, how employers don’t respond, benefits are slashed if you do find work, and one bad day can get you laid off. They simply don’t understand.

One kiddo got to fourth interview with a major software company. Spent 12 hours over two days (unpaid) in the last interview doing role play and problem solving. Got a rejection letter 2 weeks later simply saying the position was no longer available. Although I understand a company trying to protect from litigation, this is utter crap. Explain why the rejection so maybe a person can learn from the experience.

To top it off, laws and regulations are making it harder and harder to start a business. I’m not sure how this plays out (or maybe I have an idea, but the timeline is still tbd).

 

the software interviews are pretty fuckin brutal these days. It really sucks that they didn't even give him helpful feedback after that much time.

 

Didn't someone post a link a couple weeks ago to see the Avs game without a subscription? Really looking to see the game tonight from home.

Also,

If anyone has ESPN+ and Comcast they can try and watch ESPN+ through the Comcast box. For some reason I think I'm glitched and it works for me. If I try and use ESPN+ on it's own via smart TV, smartphone, computer etc it doesn't work. I have no idea why but it only works through the box. Some friends have tried this without success though
