I think we will have that ability, just depends on what the group decides. This is just a feeler to see if people are interested. figure in June or so I'll start a PLANNING thread that we can agree on firm dates/times

the way I tentitively broke it down, it was basicly two motorcycle days in one... that may be too much for some, so we'll adjust it as the group wants. I don't want to make this a rally raid... but I also don't want people (or myself) to have to take 6-7 days off of work. you could easliy turn this into a full week run if you wanted to.

I agree, I wouldn't want to take a huge amount of time off work either. I just don't want to drive sleep drive sleep. haha

Oh exactly. So maybe we plan on 5-6days (not including to and from) and if we finish early great but aren't rushed... I also my try running a northern section over a weekend to see how our pace would be...

this trail looks great. A friend of mine was interested in driving cross-state without using any pavement, but this looks to be easier and safer (our last multi-night expo was cut short after too much booze and a faceplant onto a rock). Unfortunately work keeps me busy most weekends and holidays so I don't think I could make this proposed labor day trip. If anyone is interested in trying it out another time during the summer or fall I will definitely try to be available

As far as the fishing/hiking goes. If everyone puts out something they want to do along the way we can make a sign up sheet and as Long as there is at least two rigs that can stay together we should be able to meet up at camp every night. People who want side trips on certain days can adjust their schedule accordingly and decide whether or not they want to verb going earlier than 7/set up camp in the dark/etc.

Oh and I guess this means I'm subbed as a possibility.

Exactly... figure I'll put up a "planning" thread or just extend this one... after Moab... I want everyone to enjoy themselves, not look back and think... damn should have done this or that... but also don't want to turn it into a month long tortuous race.

I'm easy going... I'm no fisherman... but i love to hike and take pictures so...

one of the cool things I've done on past motorcycle trips is everyone is self sufficient, faster riders in front, slower in the rear, we meet for lunch, and to camp... other than that you're on your own if you want to be, or paired up if you both want to be... lets you experience a lot and have stories to swap around the campfire at night. just an idea

not sure what weather you're looking for but it sounds like there's still snow nearly everywhere above 9500 feet, which i can attest to in my area. leaves are turning green though so summer is on it's way!
