Called in to Stevenson Toyota after I got my letter about getting my leaf springs replaced. It's been over 2 months now and there has been no movement or updates. I just wanted to see if anyone else had there springs replaced in Colorado or if there is something I can do to speed it up?

Did mine a couple months ago at mountain states Toyota. Took a little while because I had to make an appointment for the inspection, then they order the springs, and then another appointment to do the work. Pretty straight forward and simple though.

I started out with them but they wanted to book the diagnostic appointment 2-3 weeks out. That appointment is a waste of time when my vin already indicates that I have bad springs so I called Stevinson and they went ahead and said they ordered them. Just no word for 2 months is concerning.

Are they gonna give me a courtesy car while they do it?

I doubt they will. But it's worth a shot. My job is within there 10 mile radius for their shuttle so I'll probably hop on that.

I don't get to the Springs that often but I wonder if I could get Stevinson to call in to get them delivered up here? PM me the info please.

    Thanks!

Just had mine done at Groove Toyota. Waste of time to go in for inspection, but they ordered the parts. Took about a month to get parts, they said they are back ordered big time. But they are on and everything looks and feels good.

Service desk lady says, "did you get a call from us that we had them in?" I say "nope, just wanting to check because it's been awhile" and she says "we will call you when we get them"... that's it. Not a check back in 2 weeks or anything. Just a basic leave me alone. We will get to you when we feel like it is what it feels like.

Wasted a bunch of time on this and other problems...

Got the "come in" letter in May, scheduled app., got inspected and told that the springs were to be replaced. Parts "might take a coupe weeks."
Two *months* later, I contacted the dealer (Pueblo Toyota) and was told they are waiting for parts. Contacted Toyota and asked why the recall was dragging on so, if the problem was so important as to need a recall. "Waiting for parts."
Then I got a message from the dealers 'Customer Relations Manager' with the same non-answer--"waiting for parts."
Toyota has seriously dropped the ball on this one. I got the first letter almost two years ago. Their credibility is somewhat damaged--not that I ever believed the dealer was my buddy.
    Oh well.

Had mine done about a month ago now at Petersen Toyota up here in Ft. Collins. They did the inspection then order then wait. Took about 3 weeks to get the parts and they called me to schedule the service. Replacement took them a couple of hours but I just left the truck with them and took the shuttle.

My understanding is the hold up is hardware, not sure if that mean u-bolts or what. But I think everything comes as a kit so not sure anyone other than the parts chain management at Toyota knows. So getting mad at the dealer is probably not going to help.

Called the service department again today and she called down to parts (first time anyone has made that effort) and turns out they have some extras around their shop and am scheduled for the 31st.

In this day and time to wait 3 weeks for parts from the factory is just BS.
They know they have a problem and yet to take correct action to fix it.

Bet if some of you had a truck down for 3 weeks or a few months waiting on parts you would see it a little different....
If they wanted to fix the problem they could. This is an ungoing problem.
They pick the path that they will tell you weeks to months for the springs and hope you do not come back.
They cheap out on the parts and have a problem then they cheap out on making it right.

They know how many they built total and should have been able to estimate the number affected. They may have under estimated the number of people who would come in for them.

Also, they can't divert all springs from new production to use for recall replacements. It's not that critical because the problem is that a leaf only might break. However, I bet if an inspection finds one already broken that there is a source that will get a replacement pack immediately. IOW I'm pretty sure there's a priority to replacement fulfillment. They don't take your truck while waiting for the springs, at least they didn't park mine.
