White leading edge on the lower fins/tail and the red dots were what i used to identify.. do you think they are another type of trout?

Ah, those are Browns in my book. No blue halos around red dots or spots on tail, also they have "wiggly" looking spots along back.

Oops, Sorry Brett I quoted wrong post.

    Also, there is this:https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Pages/FishID.aspx

Per this Brookies= Tri color pectoral fins & light spots on dark Background. Browns= Dark spots on light background.

As per my original research, they seem to be Brook trout due to the wormlike markings on dorsal fin and white leading edge on lower fins and tails. However, my browns from the day before have white leading edges.... Why are none of the characteristics definitive tell-tale signs ??

    Brown Trout
A brown trout’s body is golden-brown. The body has large dark spots with pale halos. Sometimes the body also has red or yellow spots. The fins are yellowish-brown andT have no spots or white edges. The tail usually has few or no spots.

    Brook Trout
Dark green or blue black on back, to white on belly. Belly and lower fins may turn brilliant red in spawning males. Upper body and dorsal fin with mottled or wormlike markings. Sides with pale spots and reddish spots which may have bluish rings around them. Lower fins, including tail. Have distinct white leading edge. Tail square, or only slightly forked
