if you do decide to sell some stuff and have a sling or hip fly fishing pack, I'd be interested.

I'm down in springs and won't be headed up to the fort collins area until September though.

Recently picked up some foam cutters for flies. I played around with the caddis body and caddis wing cutters today. The browns really liked this one... I'll have to make more.

Finally saw largemouth bass in a local pond; hadn't seen or caught any thus far this season. So, on went a popper onto the fly rod and I went to work. Caught my first this season and it's the largest I've caught out of this little pond. The green sunfish have taken over this place this year. I pulled a decent one all colored up.

Anyone have any beta or spots they are willing to share near Alpine Wyoming?

It is literally at the junction of three rivers, so I would start with those.

Yep, that is a good home base, looooots of water within 30 minutes. There is (was?) a fly shop in Alpine that can help you out as well.

the Colorado Parks and Wildlife department announced emergency public fish salvages for two reservoirs located on the state’s eastern plains. Fisheries managers expect Jumbo and Queens Reservoirs to dry up completely in the near future, and they are hoping the public can harvest as many fish as possible before that happens.

CP&W has suspended all fishing/ limit regulations (I'm guessing dynamite fishing is still illegal:D) to clear the fish out before these 2 reservoirs dry up.
    Jumbo is by Julesburg
Queens is East of La Junta

A year or two ago I was at the spot on the map below, Bridge crossing, and everyone was catching fish left and right. It may have been early season, late april or may, and not august like last weekend. But I was there on Saturday and holy wow. I didn't realize it was such a popular spot for tubing. we were in the water for maybe 20 minutes and saw at least 50 people go by on tubes. i guess only fish below dots park?

Spent a couple of hours on some warm water this morning. Love sight fishing these bass. I'll have to copy this fly because they love it.

Does anyone have any alpine lake fishing recommendations that are around 1-1.5 hours from Denver? I was thinking Zimmerman Lake but it’s 2.5 from Denver and was hoping for slightly closer.

    Thank you in advance!

If you define alpine as being above, or close to, tree line (~11,500 feet) then I don't think there's anything 1.5 hours or less from Denver, to include the hike. The closest ones to this criteria are the lakes above Loch Lomond, Slater Lake above Chinns Reservoir, or Hassell Lake above Urad Reservoir.

Renewed my license and the teller said something very profound. A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work. Never heard it before but loved it.
