Nice turnout. Is the road fully open all the way to Rampart Range Road?

Yes sir, it’s open all the way to Rampart Road. A couple spots where snow was deep but it was a fun ride.

LOL literally just read a post from someone on today's run saying its still closed. Looking to go up and scout a trail tomorrow and would rather not go thru Woodland Park if not needed.

Nah I'm not stuck! Sorry not an emergency. Just found a truck down there that would have liked inspected before it goes on auction. But bit too late now I think.

I appreciate all the looking out though!

    Hi fellas

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in here. I was in Springs last July and did an amazing loop that took us up and at one point looked over the city. Mule deer and views were awesome.
There is a good chance we’ll be out there again this July watching the grandson shoot competition at Fort Carson.
Is there any other trails in the area that have great views but not to crazy? If we drive out I’ll have my 2012 TRD OR. It will have 5100’s 884 OME springs and AAL. But I need it to get me home.
If we fly again I’ll have a rental Tacoma so again can’t really risk damage.
Or would we be better off with a UTV rental? I would really like to show my wife more of the West and appreciate and recommendations.

Damage being a concern depends on how you drive, not the difficulty of the trail.

Mt Baldy is a fun trail. Or Mt. Herman trail is in monument, close to the AF academy

I'm doing the same in July. I'll be in Colorado Springs from July 5th to 13th. When are you going to be there? Maybe do a scenic trip? It's always better to go with more than one vehicle, no matter how hard/easy the trail is.

We are going to do a bunch of stuff like the Great Sand Dunes and Pikes Peak but I'd like to go out on some trails for scenery.

Like you, I have to get my Taco back home to Texas after the trip and since it's only 3 months old, I don't want to get too crazy. I'm stock TRD Pro but it can still do some tough stuff. But.. Hey... It's still a baby.

Any other suggestions from the Colorado forum would be appreciated. I used to live there but it's been 20 years since I have been to Colorado.

Brother in law and I are going. He's experienced and I'm a trail virgin. You gonna be there?

Edit: Never mind. We're going with a group meeting up at 0700 and heading to the same spot.

If you drive up to Garden of the Gods, you could head up Rampart Range Road from the park. The park looks cool from up there. Shouldn't do any damage. Not really a trail, but you could drive to the top of Pikes Peak as well and get a good view.
