    Bob, would you consider the camera gear to be a good starting rig for a complete f'n noob like me? I'm seriously tempted if you think it might be.

    What do you guys say? I've been looking to get into legit photography for a while now. Most likely a shit ton of landscapes and close up macro stuff. Thanks in advance, fellas!

    Super solid setup and then some.

    Im tempted to buy the Nero..

    But that is the exact same camera i have and learned to shoot on. Different glass but that isn't a short coming.

    Its a slightly more advanced body then the rebel series which i like and feels way more solid. Its their entry level prosumer camera. takes great photos too. I hate the low light performance but have made due. Any low end camera sucks in the dark and low light really.

    You won't be disappointed with that setup. It'll hold you over for a long while despite the body being 4 years old at this point. Probably the only downside really is it's age. But still working great for me!

    it's more than what you need as a noob...it'll give you some room to grow into...i think the canon's are a very easy platform to learn on

    i do have a higher end glass, but i was going to hold on to that for now since i have a sony-canon adapter and was going to use it on the a6000....

    the two lenses give you some great range with a wide angle option as well as a telephoto...

    i do have a Peak Design Slide strap that i'd throw in as well...not sure where my canon straps went to...

    It's a fantastic route, because you'll grow into it. It's a sick one-stop-shop to learn on... and likely won't outgrow it for a long time. I love DSLRs as a starter camera because they all have auto settings, and allow you complete control to experiment with the exposure triangle to your heart's desire!
