4psi seems crazy low. Does it help that much when going up snow like that?

Absolutely, here's how deep the snow was I was getting around fine in.

    Ignore my buddies laughter

A little grainy but watch this...I'm mobbing the heep on 35's and easily pass without diving into the ditch. Almost ran into him bc he slowed down at first. Then force myself out of the ruts into fresh pow. Fun to listen to the sc whine and the thing just go in the snow. Like mentioned in anther thread they became like tracks.

Now that is putting some tread down.

Nah, we were prepared and only 5 miles from home. It worked great in those conditions. But I wasn't spinning my tires on any hard surface either. I suppose if I started doing donuts I could pull them off at that pressure. With the exception of totally fresh powder, I generally try to never spin my tires, especially rock crawling.

Headed up Yankee Hill yesterday with @Littles and @ashrr213. We made it to the top without any real problems. On the way down we decided to take another trail on the left that looked like the only vehicle that had been down it recently had been a quad. We quickly realized why haha. We didn't get to far before Littles slid off the trail a bit and was stuck so we decided it best to turn around and get out. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Myself and ashrr213 were able to turn around without much trouble about 50 yds down the trail but trying to get Littles turned around was a major PITA. We used the hi lift as a winch to pull him back a few feet so he was able to back his ass end off the trail then we had to pull his front end around. We started with a small come along but that ended up seizing up so then we decided to see if I could get close enough with my winch and just use a snatch block to pull him around. The only issue with that was ashrr213 was in the middle of us. Luckily we were able to get close enough and I had just enough room to poke the front of my truck off to the side so the winch line didn't hit his truck. After the winch was hooked up it was all cake. Hindsight being 2020 we could have probably saved and hour or so if we would have just used the winch in the first place but o well. It was still a ton of fun. I kind of enjoy getting into those type of situations and figuring a way out.

Wish I would have taken more pics of the wheeling and recovery. Most of these were on the way out just messing around I'll take a look at my gopro tonight, maybe that got some good footage.

sounds like fun, looking forward to seeing the working pictures.

I went into the Yankee Hill trail system once from the West side. It had been lightly raining and I wasn't sure exactly how to get to the system from that side, just knew it was possible. Took Fall River Road up Hamlin Gulch, then right at the fork and got down to the circled area, and it got a bit tight and sketchy. Where I dropped the pin (I think) its tight with a nice dropoff and a perfectly placed rut/washout. As I was going over it, the rear slid towards the cliff a bit. And then further up there's an off camber rocky area. I would not want to do it in the snow/ice!

Well the 7 mile trip was a bust. We got about 3 miles up the poudre and there was a cdot plow in the ditch, on the river side.

No when we got there a tow truck had just showed up. The road had also not been plowed there on up.

well, in fairness, it's kinda hard to plow the road when you're sitting in a ditch...

    Ya that is true.
Ya that is what we did. Well the plow truck was going to keep going so that would have aucked. If I could have got around I would have kept going.

A few pictures from a trail run today near Woodland Park. Trail system near Longwater/Metberry Gulches. Made fresh tracks through most of it. Snow wasn't overly deep for the most part, but the drifts were consistently in the way!

Tried the crawl control in snow when it was sunk with all 4 wheels... it was slowly inching, but not sure if it would've made it out.

Looks like a great time! Wish I hadn't tweeted my back Thursday digging my truck out of a 4' berm. I would have been fun to go on a run today, great weather for it!
