Played up near Leadville this weekend, ran up to Slide Lake to fish and camp, then over to Halfmoon where I ran into @WhiskeyfootFJ. Up both branches of Halfmoon, then back east via Mosquito. Leaves are getting there but not quite fully popping yet.

Watered down version of the trip report from my build thread:

Had a fun outing at Wheeler Lake today w/ @3378jakesr5 & @CO MTN Steve. It was fun to return to the trail almost a year later to date w/ Jake and see how far our rigs have come in that time.

First obstacle on the trail (Flopper).

@3378jakesr5 on his way up the V-notch.

Barley taking a bath/drinking some runoff.

Our pup Mojo taking in the runoff.

I let Callie drive a fair portion of the trail on the way down. She's driven the rig two times prior to, can hardly drive a standard, and rocked the shit out of it. Couldn't believe some of the lines she decided to take and obstacles she was comfortable tackling for her first time ever at the wheel.

My partner in Taco crime and I did a 3 night, 4 day overland trip that started from Denver up to Kenosha Pass on the first night. Day 2 we tackled the Twin Cone trail, then headed southeast on country roads through the Tarryall area to China Wall. We made camp, and day 3 tackled not only the China Wall trail, but the long journey to Rampart Range settling in a little-known section of an unlisted 4x4 trail. Day 4 the rigs packed out and headed home to plan the next venture.

All my CO overlanders, we're still looking for new faces. Check out r/nkb to stay in the loop and let's run together. Be sure to subscribe for more NKB highlights and trip films. I just recruited a dedicated cameraman, so he and I will be able to collaborate on not only real camera work, but editing more professional videos.

The weather was clear skies and 35 at night. At 7:30am when I got out of the tent the was ice everywhere. I had pants and a down hoody on. One hour later we were cooking eggs and sausage in shorts and a Tshirt.

MTB & glamping trip out to Rabbit Valley, Western Rim trail & 18rd Fruita. Still a bit on the warm side for me but it just meant we hiked down and had a swim in the river after our ride.

    IMG_20160917_135345091.jpg IMG_20160917_135355651.jpg IMG_20160917_155045700.jpg

The Mrs ended up having a drive of the 80 which was a mistake. She now wants me to own a trail limo instead of a rough, loud old crawler.

Planning this crowd's first Moab trip on the 7th-9th if anyone is interesting in meeting up. @TBuzz maybe?

Yeah it's a great view. It used to be that Rabbit Valley was pretty undiscovered and empty.

It's on the map now... must be... a Nissan from Mississippi with bikes on top pulled in behind us. Hard to get a camping spot out there these days & they've put up a bunch of signage out there too.

Still better views and less people than 18 rd in North Fruita though.

Does anyone have any idea when the next meet up will be?

Edit: Wrong thread! My bad! I'm asking in the upcoming events thread

A little Yankee Hill fun and checking out the Fall colors with @Tacoma SS and @SliMbo4.0 today. Colors were amazing up there today and the weather was great. We even got some snow flakes dropping down on us with the sun out.
