@teamhypoxia yes I boughtnotbuilt a 1st gen Tacoma crawler. I got it on a Saturday back in Nov, @Zizzle came over the next day and we headed south. It was day 1 for me in it so just tried to get a feel. Here are few pics from the day. I haven't posted about it being I've only slightly modded it, but I have plans for a few changes.

    Chokecherry Canyon-
We started off headed to a trail called RJ's

The buggie/jeeps were in front and this guy was showing off for his first date with blondie. It didn't take 5 minutes and....

Yes I did, I didn't know that, nice work everything works. I figure a few people are familiar with it. The swap is very clean and tidy and the trucks runs far better than I really expected on the road. Gas mileage is impressive as well.

I was invited to run 7-Mile, and I expanded that invite to the folk on here and a few decided to join in.
There was me, @AmorPatriae , a friend of his from Texas, my brother, and a friend of mine who actually camped there over night.

    and a few dogs.

Kevin's truck and his son, they camped over night.

I'm not the only one who has been swallowed by this innocent seeming crack.

Me breaking trail. This was the end, we had to turn around. Took close to two hours to get 5 vehicles pointed the other way.

This is me, turned around, after winching everybody into pole position for the return trip.

Wheel base is definitely a factor on the ice crossings.
This is on the way out.

    airing up.

Absolutely epic run today. Everybody worked well together.

    Took a drive to Deadman.
A 4runner stuck right at the entrance. Literally 15 feet from dry road. It was left overnight too.

High marks on the road. Was drifted and heavy, plus it was warm so it was getting slick too.

The road just on the other side of the drift. Way too much work.

    So we went snowshoeing.

    Squirrel!

I am 100% tired of cold and snow. So we headed to the desert to get some warmer temps. Here's a poor video I shot when we got situated..Excuse the content it was on a mix from friend..But the rhythm is great...

    Sunrise

    0519289F-418D-4600-84E5-DC0B196C2E36_ccee811f067221149cd725942bdfb334ded0c3ec.jpg
Hiking around. Still some snow on northern slopes

And my dog giving me a hard time when we were ready to leave. Notice he's chilling in the shade. That's how warm it was. He was in every pile of snow, laying in the shade and stealing my firewood pile.

@TBuzz 100% sick of the white stuff too. Was checking the weather for Moab too. Hit me up for the next trip.

    Did you do any wheeling?

Last minute trip to explore the north part of the San Rafael Swell since it was nice out!

Entrance road was mostly frozen when I got there at night, little muddy but nothing too crazy... it was bentonite clay... ugh!

Found a nice camp spot on the Wedge Overlook. Zero people anywhere around.
Did a little too much playing around, slid around a corner, found ice, met boulder, cut tire...

    Nice sunrise!

Headed up to get an alignment since it was all out of whack, as well as a temporary spare since I didn't want to be offroad without a spare.

Got back and did some more exploring.

And some less dangerous playing around.
Found a nice camp spot under the stars.
    [IMG] [IMG]

My rib was still killing me from the other day, sleeping in the hammock, and the tent... both irritated it and kept me up all night long.

Truck looks good in the sand color...

    Bentonite clay. :frusty:
My brothers car was parked here... and was now stuck since it thawed out.
There are no car washes (that I know of), and I ended up driving to Fruita... bouncing all over since the insides of the wheels were completely caked in clay. Spent about $20 at the car wash just trying to clean off the wheels so I could drive without rattling my teeth out.

We are going back on Monday when this storm system moves out. Forecast for mid 60's next week. No wheeling, just cruising and was looking for a specific ruin. I only put it in 4 wheel on one section due to mud and I had the trailer. The road conditions were good, not too much mud and surprisingly already some dusty sections. The sage brush was starting to bloom and small purple cacti are poking out through the dirt everywhere. We were actually getting fresh tracks on the road for several miles and none of the campsites we visited were the following day had been used yet this year. I'll send you a message.
