I need to check that area out. I was thinking about visiting my grandparents in Farmington anyway.

 

Sevenmile was fun today. Not a ton of snow, there was a stock F250 who made it up just fine it looked like

He was going to be out past 4:30 and knew that Cheeba Hut Senior Bingo night started at 5.

Jack gets away with mass grammatical murder on a daily basis and i can't even add an extra vowel once in a while.

 

We've given up on Jake, but there may still be hope for some of you.
He did try for awhile though, I think it was during his Java chick phase.

 

Yeah he was just trying to improve enough so that she wouldn't respond to every text of his with "WTF?" Or "is that English?"

 

Thinking about going back up either next weekend or possibly the following depending on how much precip we get on Tuesday. I'll ping you, or hell, I may post a thread and have a little foco meetup, maybe swing by Odell's on the way back.

 

I'd be down for either of those, doubt you'll get the rest of the crew to attend, it's too far for them to drive .

Keep on eye on the trail status, it's open year around except for spring runoff and one of your pics showed the stream had jumped it's bank and was running down the road. Perfectly fine to be up there as long as the gate is open, The road base is good, but I would bet they close it in the next few weeks until the runoff subsides. Mainly to protect the field areas that looked muddy.

Good to know. Ive been checking the canyon lakes website before I've been leaving (called them once also). I was up there last year and screwed up my LCA's on the ice walls that accumulate on creek banks, but they weren't there and there was noticeably less snow this time last year. Hopefully we got a week or 2 before they close the gate

 

Just called Canyon Lakes Ranger District. Sevenmile closes tomorrow

 

better run it this afternoon....
If the heat trend stays and it doesn't rain or snow, it won't be closed too long.

Ran Chinamans Gulch today with @Wishbone Runner and a couple guys from the Colorado Toyota 4x4 Facebook group. As usual I didn't take many pictures.

Wondering if anyone that has ran this trail recently might be able to chime in here, couldn't find anything recent-ish on Google so I'm asking here.

Pretty much just wondering how coming up that hill at the end is?
This trail alright for a solo trip?
How is the fishing down at the end?
