Colorado Trip Reports

I was so stoked to finally see them. I took a bunch of zoomed in pics as I was coming up Radical thinking they would be gone by the time I got to the top, but when I came over the last crest, there they were just chilling. There was a couple up on top with 4 wheelers who said they just started appearing over the cornice and then just posted up munching grass and such. From what I hear, they are at the top of that hill all the time.

 

Next time take a saddle.

Did Middle St Vrain and Coney Flats loop.

The first obstacle on the Camp Dick side is definitely toned down from last year.
The first creek crossing is deeper than I've ever seen it.
Coney Creek is not that deep surprisingly.
There were the same four or five parts of the 507 trail that are kind of super gnarly for my truck. This was my sliders first real off road trip and I beat the hell out of them.

Mind you this is my truck: Stock with 170,000 miles on the original suspension.

 

Corona Pass 7.25.13, the road up was only slightly less annoying than on the east side in terms of bumpiness. I had hiked up here previously, but never driven up from the west side, lots of cool history on the old train route.

 

It's easy to get lost on Yankee Hill, even with a current guidebook and MVUM, so I thought I'd post the map with the direct route we took today from Alice to Central City... Hope this is helpful.

 

That's too funny and very true for that area.

 

OK I just got a few pics but I know there are others floating around from today. For some reason the 2 pano pics I took did not save. Don't know WTF I did wrong. I guess I will have to go back again.

Good sized group of Mtn. Goats on top of Radical Hill. I count 3 maybe 4 kids born this year.
