I'm a bit surprised with Imogene, it has that big shaded area on East side of Pass that holds that ~150 Yard drift almost all summer.

Do they just start earlier "bulldozing" it?

I wish this video was dated, but it's not.

Multiple sources, including TrailsOffroad ( https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/1408-imogene-pass ) say that the goal is to have it open by the July 4th holiday.

Yep, They need to pan right and show the drop off that guy is dealing with too. I have seen video's of similar on Black Bear including fixing rock falls.

I also am familiar with the July 4th target dates for this but @In4aride lives out there (Western Slope) and mentioned June with Imogene so I was asking if they start on that one first.

ophir would be first since it is a highly traveled route between the two sides... imogene after since it is also a two-way traffic route between telluride and ouray...

black bear is not two-way and strictly a recreation route which makes sense as why it's one of the last routes...

alpine loop is also a travel route and should be open "early"

Went to Pickle Gulch with @YamaDirtrider @Littles and @bot102. Didn’t get far. Snow blasted. Had fun. Met some cool people. Didn’t break anything. Saw a bunch of Jeeps having all kinds of issues

    It was a good day.

So I would have normally joined the crew at Pickle Gulch today BUT …

My retired brother is selling his '64 Vette that he restored. The most recent of the 50+ (I lost count) cars and trucks he has restored and sold over his lifetime. He notice how much fun I am having wheeling. To replace it, last Saturday he bought a 2015 Jeep Rubicon Hard Body. He hasn't really wheeled much. We had planned to try it out today and, since he lives in Lafayette, we decided Switzerland Trail, just outside of Boulder, would be a good initial run. We went from Sugarloaf Station (waypoint 4) to waypoint 9 on TrailsOffroad.com.
Sections of the trail had rutted snow pack roughly 4 - 8 inches deep. We were early enough in the day to be the first to experience 2 - 3 inches of fresh powder on the rutted sections from last Wednesday's storm. He learned about how ruts move the vehicle from side to side, which increased his pucker factor a little when the rut moved the Jeep towards the cliff edge. But - no worries - the rut's other side moved the Jeep away from the cliff edge.
At the Pennsylvania Gulch intersection, which is rated harder than Switzerland, I scouted about 1/2 mile into that trail to see what it was like. It was snow covered with a couple of short off camber sections and mild rocks. At a steep uphill section with rear lockers on, I lost momentum and traction in the snow. I decided that was as far as I was willing to go without the usual TacomaWorld posse who were snow bashing at Pickle. I backed up about 200 yards to an area that was barely wide enough to make a 6 point turn. A place where one needs to be comfortable placing the front tires at the edge of a steep drop off. I turned around and returned to the intersection. As I was giving my report to my brother, a trio of Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery members in their Jeeps on 37's were cruising by in the opposite direction we were going. I talked to the leader and we traded trail condition info. He also mentioned, "Avoid Pennsylvania Gulch in the snow because of the narrow steep sections ...", (I agreed) "... with no place to turn around." (I didn't say anything).

    Here are a few pictures:
