Dang these HD videos take forever to download. Just got back from hockey and it's only halfway done uploading to youtube. Should be set when I get up in the morning for work and I'll post away.

So coming from the north on RD 51 I got to the Metberry trailhead about 2:30pm. I tried to raise anyone on CB with no luck. As I was coming over I occasionally heard some nearby chatter as someone kept talking to Travis. I reached out in response but the call backs were unclear.

The road I had come down had so much snow melt and thick mudd that I struggled a bit just to get to the gulches. So not knowing which gulch you guys were on I chose not to head down any on my own. I think that maybe you guys were at the bottom of Metberry when I came through. What time did you all leave the trail?

I'm sure you heard me calling back to Travis. After the group extracted itself from the 250 vehicle debacle that was Hacket we found ourselves a few trucks short. We waited a considerable time at the trail exit before the group headed off to Metberry.
Travis and I didn't feel comfortable leaving people behind so we waited a bit longer and finally went a little ways back down Hacket before finding our three stragglers. It sounds like you heard some of our radio chatter as we headed down Metberry to catch up with the group.

    Working on it.

The road was really soupy with mud and snow melt on our way out...which direction did you come from? None of the gulches had any mud really, just that main rd.

Damn Eric, I wish I would have known you were going. You should have called me when you were on your way, pretty sure you have my number. We would have loved to have you, even though the group was massive the way it was. Next time!

I came down RD 51 from the north. I caught it at the town of West Creek off of HW 67. So where you guys turned off of the main road onto Metberry I came from the north. Further north the trail had a lot more snow pack melting and the mudd was gooey. There were a couple of uphill sections that I completed sideways and under a lot of throttle so as to not get stuck. My sliders have about 3"s of dried mudd on them now. :D And I need to get it all off before Friday when I start tearing the truck apart for gears.
Yeah I thought about texting but by the time I did I had no signal. I spent the morning West of Deckers in the National Forest releasing the past week's stress with some high-powered lead. :) After that I tried to find a back why down to the gulches without going all the way to Woodland Park. Which I did by going through West Creek and RD 51.

It sounds like you guys were at the bottom of Metberry when I came through. Most likely skipping rocks in the river so no one was by a CB. :D Oh well the season is just getting started.

Ohh ok...I only asked because the main Rd for us was muddy...but nothing to crazy. I was in 2wd and just carrying speed (and wheel spin) most of the time. I showed the wife the pics and now she wants me to take her down to the river. Your correct the season is just starting. I need tires and considering a couple days out at MOAB.

The 4 runner and I headed north from Metberry. I thought it said CR3. It was a sloppy mess for sure but we did fine. I just got some awesome new tires so I'm sure that helped.

Nope gps led us right out. We just started out in the wrong direction because I misread the GPS. It's always easier to read when you're moving. Saw a good size herd of elk and a ton of deer. It was a really cool road. More of a trail then a county road I thought.

If you feel bad my truck needs a bath! :D:p
So I did not run into you guys as I came up so you all must have started back up Metberry as I rolled up to the trail head. I kept going to Long Water and Hackett. Ran into some 4 runners at the top of Hackett then kept going south out to HW24 then back around to Woodland Park an up 67 back through Deckers.

You are right on the road. It is a mix of CR3 an RD 51. Luckily you guys had the downhill gravity working with you for most of that trail back out to West Creek. Coming up it before Metberry was the fun stuff. :D I assume that is where you hoped back on to HW 67?

I need to look at the GPS track to see exactly what we did but that road was sure a lot cooler than I25!

Not sure it even cost us all that much time either.

Oh and we definitely ran into some mud.....py4a6eby_17d2a8e53a14add1d42b89204f6c9fbe55bc1fd1.jpg

Mine was all dry by the time I got home. I probably have an extra 300lbs. on the truck right now. It sure is quite though. :p
