    Not sure this will work...

Edit- it didn't. Anyone know how to upload a .gif file using tapatalk? I have the file saved on my iPhone. It looks like a regular picture unless I send it in a text message to somebody, then you can see the animation.

Hell of a good idea you had with the night run Jace!

I feel like I'm hung over. I almost never see the other side of midnight and I didn't get home until about 2:30.

I hope someone got some good pictures because I didn't take a single one.

Did Kingston Peak yesterday. First time out with the new suspension and tires.

Didn't air down which probably made for a bumpier ride but hotdamn the OME suspension is night and day difference.

    Love it.

Plus the tires had no issues. Granted the trail is fairly mellow with only a couple of rocks where you need to pay attention, but the rocks got wet and the tires did great.

Plus it snowed on us briefly when we stopped at the peak.

Fun was had up here this weekend as I was joined by Husky Driver and TuckGraham to do a little wheeling in this corner of the state.

As per usual, I didn't take many pictures, but Kipp should have a decent amount.

Started out by heading up to the top of Farwell Mountain.

Tuck dropping down into Diamond Park:

    IMAG0761_zps3zcgx4cb_668ce201b24d3f5d01f746f0fc6f21dc9583de9d.jpg

And getting all he can out of the stock suspension:

    IMAG0762_zpshucti5ts_5b86899d67ce862bdac685325b75635660d98a30.jpg

    Climbing up towards the top:

    IMAG0763_zpsmm3cndpd_8c84bce69a7bf93eb66a698c308f8253f6e849ff.jpg

Tuck took off after this, and Kipp and I proceeded to hit the Ellis Jeep Trail. A very well stuck and abandoned Jeep made for an interesting night. We pulled it out and parked it on dry ground. Kipp should haven't plenty of picutres of me driving a Jeep

Yesterday we went over Elkhorn mountain, with a stop by Elkhorn mine:

Truth be told, Brett did most of the recovery. I helped a little with the final pull out of the bog after the suction had been overcome.

This is a very good example of why you never go 4x4ing alone. We found out later for the USFS campground resident retiree that the owner had walked the 8 miles to the campground earlier that day. Brett probably knows more of the story after calling the number on the business card left with the resident retiree.

    Pictures turned out good Kipp!

But yeah, took a little bit, but I was able to get in contact with the Jeep owner. He hiked 5 hours out of there, and then had to hitch 3 seperate rides to make it back to Steamboat.

Got it out on Sunday, but not after getting the F-250 rescue vehicle stuck too...

He didn't say exactly, but he did say they drove in from the Hog Park Side. I assume it was in one of the various mud pits in the tight wooded section. Luckily, they had an unstuck Jeep to pull it out.

I imagine he was pretty surprised to see it out. I was hoping to get a hold of him before he put in too much effort devising a way to pull it out. Kinetic Snatch strap worked wonders, I really doubt a chain or a winch would have done it.

They place he got stuck has got to be one of the absolute worst in the entire county (if he wasn't in Wyoming at that point) to get stuck. You can't get further away from civilization in Routt country than where he was. We weren't just going to leave him there! That road is not very well traveled, and to try and find someone else with enough gear to pull him out would have been next to impossible.

Although not quite as bad, I've been in similar situations before. So I hope there's someone there to do this to me next time I get stuck miles from nowhere. Smart of him to leave a key in it though.

That kinetic strap will have to go on my list of recovery gear to get. I was really something to see that strap pull a 37" out of hard suctioned mud. (Raw physics in action is FUN!) I was getting ready to hook up my winch to it to pull him out but Brett pointed out that because of how the Heep was stuck I'd have only been pulling myself closer to the bog. That whole part of the meadow was like standing on a waterbed.

Here is where that bog is located & it is right in the midst of nowhere. Little wonder we saw something as reclusive as a porcupine.
