    Run to Greer Road today.
Along Buckhorn Road, you will see this caboose. It's been there for as long as I can remember, decades.

Entrance to Ballard Road for those who are trying to find it.
It's 9/10 of a mile past mile marker 30 on Buckhorn Canyon road, aka, Pennock Pass.

And the actual Ballard entrance, notice the signs, they are plastered everywhere, stay on the road and you will eventually be on FS land.

    Upper entrance to Greer Road.

    Typical scenery

Bent my license plate somewhere along the way.

Came across this guy and his wife. They had been there for 5 hours. Couldn't get the Land Rover out of park. Seriously.

I helped him check all his fuses, wiggled the linkage, removed the center console to see wtf was up, nothing, I don't know shit about British vehicles. It started and ran just fine, had no brake lights, so I suspect there was some kind of lockout switch that was fubar.

So I helped him remove the driveshafts and zip tie them up.

Pulled him thru 100 yards of assorted mud holes, did not get a single freaking picture because, well, nobody there to take pics.:(
Except for a couple in the mirror that really suck. Trust me, it was epic.

btw that's his friend behind him in another Rover. It was his idea to have me do the pulling.

So I pulled him to Pennock Pass road and his friend took over from there. End of story.

Significant snow melting since last week. Had some fun with @Night Eagle

    And stuck:

    IMAG1108_zpsjrij69t6_1cb2e51422e1f8c8b7faa715b9055d86bec06898.jpg

It was the theme of the day:

    IMAG1109_zpskntzsz8o_f1a92e366dd290697161f8e434019c9e5fdd80d9.jpg

Got stopped here, about 1/4 mile shy of the summit of a 10,500' mountain. This is slightly north facing too:

Went down the less traveled side after Leo bailed, was the first person on that section all year. So it involved a lot more snow drifts, and quite a bit of time with the chainsaw, and the winch, when I saw something I didn't want to cut like this:

It's north of Steamboat, but I swore Leo to secrecy on the actual location. Anyone makes there way up here I'll show them around.

    Never said it was.
