After owning two Colorados (Z71 and a ZR2) I missed a sunroof and Toyota finally got on board with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. That and Qi wireless charging and I decided to trade in the ‘18 ZR2 for a ‘20 Tacoma. I also hated black here in AZ and while Sand was certainly up on the top of my list I went with white.

Bought on 3/24 - added the OEM bed lights, OEM bed mat, OEM roof rack, OEM power remote tailgate lock, and Nfab rock sliders since. Have a TYGER roll-up tonneau on the way. Being somewhat anal - picked up the OCD center console storage and glove box divider. Also added the TRD air filter.

I also had a CarPlay2Air and it works flawlessly.

More to come - and yes the JBL audio system sucks. Definitely hate having to turn it to 40 just to hear it.

    Some pictures as of today:

Welcome aboard. I have to say I think it’s truly incredible people buy trucks based on their smart phone compatibility.

Yeah, hard to not want it once you’ve had it for 5+ years. Whatever brought me - glad I got to join the Tacoma family.

Yeah, I was considering the Bison. Like I said above, I missed a sunroof (had them all my life) and Chevy/GMC hasn't offered it in the truck. Otherwise, the Toyota rides better and I'm not really taking the thing into a ton of complex trails - never really took the ZR2 anywhere but up in Sedona a few times. The reality is that it's a heavy beast that just feels more like a truck than even the full size trucks. But I will give the Colorado this - they are truly midsized and the interior space vs Tacoma is fair superior. However, my driving position (6'1") is better in the Tacoma for some reason. Left leg doesn't need to lean against the door.

Welcome to TW! If you're looking at upgrading the head unit check out the alpine F309. The sound alone this head unit produces made it worth the money.

I had a discussion about this with my buddy the other day. He had just replaced the head unit in his car for one that he could use his Apple CarPlay. We get a lot of tornados here in central Oklahoma and weather map capability is almost a requirement. A head unit is a lot easier than looking at the IPhone.
