I just don't understand the thought process for this. Monday late morning Comcast cuts off internet, cable, tv. I'm in the middle of a zoom meeting for work and everything goes out. I'm sure there are a lot of people still working from home. I check Comcast outage site (use my cell phone hotspot, that has 1 bar) and get the message below.

So this was a planned outage and knew they were going to do this, yet they did nothing to notify their customers. Just pulled the plug. They have our contact info and certainly have no issue reaching out when they want something (payment, upselling services, surveys, etc). Seriously pissed right now as its 4pm and I have a lot of data heavy, on-line work to do but can't. Guess what I'll be doing until late tonight, if we get service back? That's right, cussing Comcast out while fracking with spreadsheets. Fuck you, Comcast. You're craptastic.

And that's exactly why I'm on fiber. It's the sightly lesser of only two available evils in my hood.

The fiber sales guy came by my house the other day with signup deals and I said oh hell yeah I'll take anything other than comcast.

Then he looked up our address and it turned out we weren't eligible for fiber. What a tease.

I feel your pain. They tend to do these planned outages Monday morning from what I’ve seen. No fiber option in my area either

Another vote for Starlink. Cut the cord and saving over $100 a month.

I have Comcast as well - and they SUCK.

I hope it doesn't rain, because if it does, I won't have internet access.

Unfortunately, other than satellite, they are my only choice for high speed service.

I find it so ironic, when 20 years ago, the cable companies were loosing out to the phone providers, that now they are leading the pack.

Maybe someday I will be able to get fiber...

We use T-Mobil 5G Gateway. So far it has been pretty good. Since you use T-Mobil for cellular service OP…might be a better option?

How did you know I use T-Mobile? That's a bit creepy! Lol.

Our cell coverage here is surprisingly bad, considering it's very flat and a highly populated area. When I had AT&T they gave me a mini cell tower because their coverage was crap. They discontinued that and I stayed with them for a while, but I couldn't take it anymore after a recent power outage.

Recently I switched to T-Mobile (they have a $15/month plan that is perfect for me), but have similar reception. Even though I have wi-fi calling turned on it's still iffy. Might be that I get great download speed but upload is not so great. Currently I have 1 bar...

You would think for a city in CA that size would have decent coverage.

    Our T-Mobil is great.

Let me hack into your camera. Stand by.

You have a Samsung TV right? Or is that your neighbors?

Ha! Cameras all have paper taped over them. Nice try on the Samsung guess, but no for me. For the record, I'm having a meatball sub.

    Togo's Meatball......my go-to if I get a Togo's sandwich.

Oh and I hate Comcast too. Back when I had them, I noticed the bill would increase by $10 each month after a few months. After 3 consecutive increases, I'd call and bitch about it. They'd put the price back where it should be, then pull the same shit 3 months later. A couple rounds of that and I bailed on them.
